Agreed. I wonder what the board looks like for RB's and what kind of back the staff is looking for to complement what we already have? The home-run threat guy like Seastrunk, all-purpose type like Bernard or Gore or the a big, physical guy like Keon Williams. Maybe they take the best available, but I think the staff is pretty strategic about these things.
Well Bernard is a better all- around back. But we have Bryce here so his role would be filled. Gore could come here and be dangerous as a return man.
What are you basing this off of? Ive watched film of both and def. have to disagree. I think Gore is the better prospect of the two...and would much rather have him over Bernard. Bernard actually looks quite a bit slower than Gore.
Gore has exceptional one cut downhill capabilities...which is precisely what Gran teaches...with the fact he can take it to the house at any point...just don't think you get that with Bernard.
Just my two cents....
I really hope Seastrunk lands at LSU. I think Hillard is watching what happens there. They already have one RB in this class and Hill for 2011. I think Hillard is the best back in either class and I think Seastrunk being their would make him think hard before going to LSU.
If we can't get Dyer I would like to see us take Darkwa which I think is a back that Coach Gran loves and did awesome at camp. I don't think he would keep Hillard away and IMO is the sleeper back of this class....
Gore is going to be higher on the list than Darkwa. We are going to have to miss on several other guys before Darkwa gets a shot.I really hope Seastrunk lands at LSU. "LSU's still my No. 1," Gore said. "I'm still riding with LSU. I hear from them once a week and the feedback is perfect and it's something I want to hear and something I want to do. That's why LSU's my No. 1."
"Growing up Miami was my favorite school I would have liked to play for them but I have to look out for myself," Gore said. "Miami's getting back after back (including Loganville, Ga.'s Storm Johnson) and I'm not the kind of guy who wants to sit on the sideline and watch a back do something.
"I'm the type of back that wants to get on the field and show the coaches my talent so I have to make the best choice for me," Gore said. "I still love Miami but deep down in my heart I have to do what's best for me."
"My focus right now is to sit down with my mom and talk and let her know that LSU is a place I can go and show my talent," Gore said. "I don't feel I would have to wait until my junior or senior year to do that. I feel like I have to make the right move for myself."
Apparently he doesn't think he is better than those other backs.....good confidence.
For his sake, I hope LSU doesn't recruit a stud next year and then he watches him play for his junior and senior seasons.
