I really want Rogers to come to UT and all, but the idea of some kid handling a priceless piece of UT football history when he isn't even officially a Vol yet kinda bugs me.....

I definitely agree. Maybe he has already signed. That's the deal, sign the LOI and give it a kiss. Without the LOI, Do not touch.

This is goofy. He is a 5 star reciever. I would make a snow angel in my birthday suit if he signed with the Vols and I'm not even a coach. You do whatever you can do to get the best players in the country. That is how you build/rebuild a football program.

I think he's a Vol as well. I know UGA is making a hard push for Christian Green possibly to replace Rogers. I'm sure they'd go after him anyway though.

I remember that... Orson Charles did it. Just bolsters my point that even if insured I wouldn't let anybody near the NC trophy if I didn't have to. If some recruit decided not to sign with UT just because we didn't let him hold the trophy then I'd be ok with that.....Not saying Rogers is like that at all but if schools are going to use NC tropies as recruiting tools (and they most certainly SHOULD do that!) they should keep the kids at a distance.... Tell 'em if they wanna smooch the crystal thay have to go win one (or more!) of their own!!! Then.... MUCHAS SMOOCHES BABY!!!!!!!!

I don't think it is a big deal at all. It is a trophy.
