Mack Brown - Football Recruiting

"My dad was a Florida fan and I cheered for the Dawgs," Brown said. "That changed a few years ago. I started cheering for Tennessee when they got Eric Berry. Actually my first game on varsity was against him. He's something else. My uncle is a big Tennessee fan also."

"I have a couple of friends playing for Tennessee," Brown said. "I played with and against LaMarcus Thompson and Nigel Mitchell-Thornton in high school. I been watching them for a long time. I remember when they had Jamal Lewis and Peyton Manning. They have Lane Kiffin now and I really like his pro style offense."

"I talked to Lane Kiffin about an hour ago," Brown said Monday night. "He told me he wanted me to go up for their junior day. I'm going to be looking to see if I would feel at home and how the coaches bond with the players."

7/24/09 - Committed to Florida at Friday Night Lights

Might be just a little to early to say but from his comments if we can get this guy on campus & him like it, it sounds like he would be a lock.

We definitely have a lot on our side. Looking at numbers and speed, this kid looks like the real deal.

4.38, dude can fly. Might be a little early to speculate, but it sounds like we've got a foot in the door already

I'm hearing he is a pretty heavy UT lean right now...
4.38 is basically Eric Berry speed, tough slower. We need a player with Noel Devine/Jahvid Best speed.

I will take a RB that runs a 4.38 any day. What are you thinking Devine and Best run?

Cool. Looks like there are a lot of studs interested in the Vols this year! I think recruiting will be fun to watch in 2010.

I would say the Top 100 will be out here in a month or so. THe top 250 is usually about April.

I think M. Brown is going to be a top 10 All Purpose Back for sure.

just watched his videos and i dont know if it is just me but i honestly am not all that impressed. He has great speed but he seems to not read his blocks very well and he runs very tall for a running back. He also seems to go down after the first hit.
