I was working out today and our strength coach was talking to me about martez. I heard he sent in a tape to some big names schools like UT, UGA, and UF. He said last night that Coach Akins phone rang and it was Lane KIffin. He said he was interested in Martez and asked where Ringgold was. Our coach says in north georgia.

just a cool story i'd thought id share with you.
and no i dont have a link.

I highly doubt anyone from Ringgold is going to play D1 football. LFO(my alma mater)had better players my JR year than anyone on LFO and all of those guys went to NAIA or DII or III schools.

Gordon Lee is like a 7th grade team. Sorry alums but lets get serious.

The whole region is like a 7th grade team. That's why Bowman looked so good at Ridgeland, but he really didn't do that much to deserve a 4* rating. He can thank his brother for that.

Actually Martez lost some weight and got in better shape so this year he played RB, QB, CB and LB. I believe he would have had an even better year if Fairchild (starting QB) hadn't injured his knee.

"My word, we've seen him line up anywhere from quarterback to tailback to receiver and more," Mariakis said. "He's one of the few kids who can carry a team on his back. He brings a great combination of power and elusiveness to a game. He's got a great little sidestep move he can put on you. He's not just a power back."

The only question remaining is where will Eastland play next year. Eligibility concerns have eased after he passed the school's graduation test, and he's just a few points shy on the ACT test of fully qualifiying. At worst, according to Akins, he will be a late qualifier. The news has ramped up recruiting efforts, with SEC schools Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee leading the way.

From everything I've heard the kid has had quite a few run ins with the law. I doubt we pursue him very much or take his commitment if he wanted to play here.

I've heard bad things about him too. I don't think the current staff has ever shown interest in him. His Scout profile shows him with a UT offer, but I'm 99.9998% confident that it was from Fulmer only.

We have to take a back, especially if Poole leaves. Even if we don't get one of the major players we're signing someone for depth.

It surely wouldn't be the first player with poor character that Fulmer tried to bring in. (Assuming the rumors about trouble were true.)

I don't think Poole will leave, but certainly anything can happen.

considering i go to school with this guy i dont think UT should get him, he is a slacker and will probably be on academic probation for a while
