I never understood what that meant.

Don't worry. It's just one of those phrases that recruiting experts like to use -- and one that a few people throw around on these boards like it's the end-all of a prospect's ability.

If hes so unheralded I expected him to atleast be lightning quick if we were pursuing.

One of the fastest players in the country...and second fastest at the ua game (according to rivals writer) is L.Joyner...rivals has a 40 time of 4.53... I wouldn't put to much stock into these 40 times because unless the 40 times are from a camp, they are hand clocked by a high school coach most of the time...

You never know with this staff. Recruiting larger backs...could be for a couple positions on the field. I'm just saying. You never know with this staff. Looks solid. In Kiffin I trust.

SAT 850-that must be without the writing component or that would be absolutely horrible-the new score tops out at 2400. What is minimal requirement? ACT seems like he could enroll.

I have a friend that got into Carson Newman on a b-ball scholly with a 12 on his ACT. Seriously, a monkey was given the ACT and pressed random buttons corresponding to answers and scored a 12. Surely a 19 is good enough.

Bennett is a back with a good combination of size and downhill burst. Has a very thick build, particularly through his hips and lower-body. A guy who could carry the load at the next level, remain durable and wear down a defense. Can see and hit the cutback decisively. Shows good downhill burst out of his cuts. Can pick and dart through the seams and has good lateral footwork/jump-cut skill for his size. While he lacks great top-end he shows he can change gears and elude defenders through traffic into the second level. Shows better than adequate lateral burst stretching outside as well. However, we feel he will struggle eluding faster pursuing lateral defenders at the next level and his production will stem from his good between the tackles bursts and yards after contact. Is a sturdy runner with a good base and low center of gravity. Lowers the shoulder, keeps his legs driving through the pile and bounces off a lot of initial contact; we would have liked to have seen a bit more explosiveness for his size though. Overall, Bennett lacks great speed and elusiveness but we like his physical tools and skill set as a future load-back at the major college level. A guy who could frustrate a defense with his shiftiness and wear it down eventually with his good combination of size and downhill burst. Has the hands and potential blocking skills to be an every down back. Expect recruiting to heat up, particularly with a breakout senior season.

"It was a pretty big shock. I hadn't ever heard from Tennessee," Bennett said. "So when coach told me to come down and see coach (Lane) Kiffin it was a real big shock to see the head coach at Mceahcern."
Kiffin and Lance Thompson visited with Bennett at school and discussed the possibility of him visiting.
