I'll talk more about Ambles in this week's Recruiting Fix, but you have to remember, there was a good chance Ambles might land at USC before they stopped recruiting him. Now there is a coach there that he knows and has already committed to once. It's going to be hard to say no.

Ambles is not coming...pipe dream nowadays.

I think he was referring to the depth chart/playing time angle, like just posted though, Lane will sell him the moon, he is probably confident enough in his abilities where it doesn't matter who they sign.

Ambles doesn't strike me as someone afraid of competition, especially given that he was trying to get Kyle Prater to go to UT at the Army AA game.

idc if hes scared of competition. he was around woods and prater enough at the AAA game to know that if he goes to USC he will have to share the spotlight. UT is the obvious choice if he wants to stand out and be the star.

He plays wide receiver -- not quarterback. Depth isn't a huge concern.

If he's good enough, he will see the field no matter who else is on the roster.

Nothing obvious about UT right now, other than how we got screwed like a tied goat recently.

Him visiting USC and not UT, says about all we need to know.

im not argueing about playing time. im talking about the spotlight. Lots more sharing of it at USC... he could hog it at UT.

What spotlight? Football is a team sport. I've never heard of any non-QB committing to one school over another because they want more attention or to be singled out. That theory doesn't hold any water. If he can play, he will be just as decorated and talked about at USC as he would here.

for a guy who has his own online "show" or whatever it was and refers to himself in the third person, id say attention is a pretty big deal. Not saying he will come to UT simply for that reason, but it seems like that wouldnt help USC at all.
