He just got back from UNC today. Dooley called him today to set up the in-home visit for tomorrow...

LV -- with the Rams season over, would you expect that Baggett will accompany Dooley on this visit?? While I think that would be very beneficial, I have no idea if he is a good recruiter or not, but his record should speak for itself.

I would think Baggett should go if at all possible. We need this guy.

Baggett should go if at all possible, because if it doesn't go well tomorrow it sounds like we will be OUT of the running for Markeith. He is going to decide by Wednesday who gets his official visits, so if the in-home doesn't go well tomorrow, we are done. So, yes, Baggett needs to be there or he may never meet Markeith.

The fact that he went ahead and de-committed before having a visit with DD tells me he is already gone... I hope I am wrong but...

On a positive note... it would speak volumes if Rogers and Nance still make the visit to UT after all that has happened lately...

Not good, but hopefully the coaching staff will be able to paint a picture of what will be if he is in orange. USC is the biggest competition imo. But if he is looking for early playing time UNC or Ole Miss is the way to go besides us. USC alreadhy has 2 5 star WRs coming in, geez.

He told Mike Farrell that he decommitted, then turned around and told Austin Price that he was committed still. He told Price that tomorrow's visit with Dooley would go a long way to deciding whether he'd open it back up tomorrow and whether he'd visit Tennessee.

Needless to say, tomorrow is huge. The latest has us attempting to get the new WRs coach to pass his recruiting test and go with Dooley & Thompson tomorrow.

Farrell is a Bammer. He will push a kid to say things the way he wants him to say it. Basically the kid is decommitting if the meeting does not go well. If it does he will either cancel other visits or take them and be a soft to us and we get to lose hair.

Before i start to get worried and say he DEcommited or not....rivals has took him off our commited list.....did i miss something?? has he DEcommited?

"I'm still committed to Tennessee," Ambles said. "I don't know what I'm going to do for sure. It might be opening back up. A lot of it will depend on my meeting with coach (Derek) Dooley tomorrow."

And if the meeting goes well for both Ambles and the Vols then he may very well end up taking an official visit to Tennessee this coming weekend.

"Definitely," Ambles said when asked if a positive meeting would result in Tennessee getting an official visit.

Per Rivals... VQ talked to him tonight. He has not decommitted...

its ironic to me that the one kid that has been repeatedly slammed for maturity issues and personal conduct issues has been the one(of the high rated prospects) that has handled the coaching change in what, to me, is the smartest way a kid could. brandon willis jumped to UNC without even considering who the next coach might be. he may be happy at UNC but im sure he would like to have the chance, now, to at least meet Dooley and get a feel for the guy. ambles just basically took a wait see approach. that is the thought process that i would expect from a 5* caliber player.

So hows does Rivals look at an interview with this kid where he says "I am still committed to Tennessee" and decide to take him off our commitment list?

That makes pleny of sense

I think the HFC and the guy that has been recruiting him from square 1 is more important than the HFC and his position coach that he has no relationship with.

Agreed. Definitely a comfort factor involved. And the fact that Chaney's going to be OC has to help, too. They just need to tell Markeith that he's still wanted, explain how Coach Baggett would coach him directly and how many talented receivers have flourished under him previously, and get him to come visit and meet the rest of the new staff.

If that doesn't work to get him back on board, then he either doesn't mesh with Dooley or was wayyyy too in love with CLK.
