I don't think we'd be as good in Monte's D as we'd be in a bastardized 3-4. We could handle McCluster a heckuva lot better with 4 LBs, I can tell you that much.

It's not quite as important that the nose be like Haoli Ngata in college as it is in the NFL because a good 280lb nose in college can demand double teams whereas in the NFL the nose is gotta be 325lb min.

Am I crazy here?

not crazy .....but that 280 lber would have to be EXCELLENT . The nose has to be special even in high school for the 3 foe to be effective . Without a 2 gap nose ....a 3-4 is nothing more than an annoyance to the offense . There job is to be big and hog a bunch of space ...and bend the line to the point that the 4th D lineman is not needed.

you have too ...it was aggressive , and blitz happy .

The blitz's really takes the pressure off a tired - under subbed D line .

3-4 will work good when you have a great NT and outside backers that can play up or down . We just don't seem to have all the components

Hughes would be a great 3-4 NT...we just wouldn't have much depth at the NT....

We have a ton of DE/OLB... Walker (will be drafted by a 3-4 team), Smith (prototypical 3-4 olb), Williams, Stanley (if we sign him)

The 3-4 would be a good fit if we had some more depth at NT...

When you said he made it in does that mean he has the requirements to get into UT or he just got to KVille

Hearing that Glen is recruiting the other official visitors to Tennessee. Take what you want from that. Would be a huge pickup for Dooley & Co.

V,B!

Tru dat.. The NT in a 3-4 needs spelled A LOT.
Prob every 2 plays. Hopefully you get a lotta 3rd n longs.

I watched the youtube video of this kid and he looks like a great project type player. I will say if I were the OC of the other team.....I would think the QB and slot rec./TE would have a hot read so when they saw him start coming around on that blitz move(seemed like he did it alot)...a quick 4 yard dump pass would go for 20+ yards all day long as he was leaving a huge hole open in the middle. We need some quick backers though..and this kid would be a solid pick up. IMO

This guy has experience as a DE, LB, and S. Incredibly versatile with his size/speed combo.

Look for him to wear the orange. Should hear something soon. Dooley is connecting with these kids. I have confidence that he will salvage this class.

Outside linebacker
Thatcher, Arizona
Eastern Arizona J.C.
Ht: 6'2"
Wt: 245 lbs
40: 4.42 secs
Class: 2010 (Junior College - Dec Grad)

Glen Stanley - Yahoo! Sports

Dooley is going after this LB and he looks legit. A 5.9 4star. No way he runs a 4.42 like he is listed at but at 6-2 245, it sounds like he can move.

Have him also return punts and kickoffs. Also blocks kicks coming off the edge!:good!:

I thought out of the visitors we had this weekend he would be the first to commit. The longer it goes without any word the more nervous I become. I wanted this one.
