I've watched Fugate for the past four years...against some weak competition and against some very good competition. The most telling game was against Louisville Central (in the state championship game his junior year) which boasts Patterson, one of the best defensive players in the class of 2010. Central also had Mister Cobble, who will make a name for himself at the D1 level. Fugate always rose to the occasion against such competition and had great numbers running out of a spread offense. He was more suited as tailback in HS and his speed is deceptive. His decision making with the ball is phenomal--inborn ability to find the hole, especially out of the wildcat formation. If he'd played in a HS system with big down linemen and a big blocking fullback, there's no telling what kind of numbers he would've racked up. He'll be very effective in a number of positions. I've watched alot of HS football and have witnessed the Kentucky-Tennessee HS match-ups of years gone by. He's the best I've seen, granted it's KY HS football; however, the state has produced a few good products...Couch, Alexander, Brohm, etc. I think Big Orange fans will fall in love with this athlete.
