I still think they have a legit chance with guys like Kelcy Quarles, David Mahoney and Jeff Whitaker, but it is imperative they get them on campus ASAP.

We've already got Willis and Copeland who are likely DTs under O. Harris and Broussard are likely gone. Brown's chances get worse and worse. Calvin Smith is a possibility. David Mahoney is another. Then you have guys like Quarles, Thornton, Whitaker and Uko that aren't very likely.

This is probably true. His status is going to depend on the situation of Brown and Harris. I'm not sure how much longer they are going to be able to wait on Mahoney and that situation to develop.

Yeah, they definitely want at least 1 JUCO DT because it's hard to bank on HS DTs. Mahoney isn't a bad backup but he won't wait forever.

Quarles seems to be a mystery. Smith I haven't heard anyone talk about much, but from the ipression i get everyone is like well he'll do but not much more than that. I can't find too much info on him.

He is rumored to be getting a in home visit. Does that suggest he will qualify? If not we must be going to sign and place. Does signing and placing count against one of our 28 total?

It means they are not giving up on him and there is still a chance they think he can get in. If he goes to a prep school it will not count against this years scholarships. It only counts when he actually signs and enrolls I believe.

I think scout just took him off of our committed list unless I missed something. We are going to be down to 19 players if Adams leaves which is likely... We now have a lot of room for superior players, and I know this staff is more than capable

DL is thinning out. Looks like Smith, Copeland (if he's moved to DT). And whoever we pick up between now and NSD.

noticed that he didn't sign with anyone today... I'm assuming that he cannot make the grades? Why not a "sign and place" player? Anyone have info on this situation? He looks like a great talent.

He may not be close to qualifying at all, not sure. I think CDD is holding open spots for players he will know will qualify.
