Hes a vol...hes really been high on the vols for a while because of our coaching staff. He called coach O and told him, not the other way around. Its a done deal gentlemen.[/QUOTE]

Nothing is further from the truth in recruiting. The young man is quoted as saying he will be a Tiger when they offer.

LSU wants revenge for the Jackson fiasco and stealing from UT at a position of need and with Chief as the new defensive boss is too perfect a situation for LSU not to pass up. Not to mention this guy will be a big time recruit when this is all over with.

Again, I'm not holding my breath on this one.

I think he'll stay a Vol........there's a big nasty monster brewing in Knoxville right now.......it's called the Orange Swarm and it will decimate SEC offenses in just a few years.....Bama & Florida will be brought to their knees (I know, they spend a lot of time there anyway) and made to cry tears of sorrow because of our talent and coaching. Mark my words.......there's a big nasty monster coming!

Coach O doesn't let things get taken from him... especially verbal commits. This kids all Vol.

Can someone please post the quote where he says he will be a Tiger if LSU offers? Rivals and GVX articles didn't have it. I'm thinking it could be the Scout article, but I don't have a scout membership. Thanks. In the meantime:

I just feel relieved to have it overwith and excited. Like I said, Tennessee has been on my mind for a while and it's fun to be able to tell everyone that I am going to be a Vol."

Broussard, who has never been to Knoxville, picks Tennessee over LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, and Alabama. Broussard knows that no one will stop recruiting him and said he might take a visit or two, but is "firm" to Tennessee.

"One of the things I like about Tennessee is that they need help on the defensive line," Broussard said.

3/6/09 Rivals---

LSU, that's my hometown school. Most likely I'll be a Tiger. I'm waiting for an official offer. They're telling me that they want to offer me but I'm waiting for it.

The LSU posters have said he has a 1.7 GPA and that Miles may lie back and let Orgeron do all the legwork to help him fix his grades, and only then when it's done for them, they'll swoop in with an offer. Take it FWIW.

Broussard will end up at LSU but this will help get the ball rolling.

Tafka, STHU with your negative comments all the time. What the hell are you trying to do? Get some attention? If you have something negative, keep it to your damn self. No one else wants to hear it.

Thanks guys. I still think we have a decent chance of hanging on to him. Even if LSU steals him from us later, I think we had the better steal from them with Janzen Jackson, not to mention anyone else we decide to take from them this year!

EB, shouldn't you be at the Bama Spring game catching up on their recruiting?

He made that Lsu comment a while ago....this one won't be over until signing day but either way you look at it this pickup is huge. One thing you don't do is give Coach O any wiggle room to get up on you in recruiting. LSU just made a big boo boo if they think it will be that easy to just swipe in the last minute. Even after committed, Coach O calls his guys daily to make sure they are doing what they need to do to get on campus.

Potential of the future defense is looking might nasty:
DE: Walker, Martin, Smith, need 1 or 2 more in this class
DT: Hughes, Walls, Broussard, Jeffrey(sleeper in last class), need 1 or 2 more in next class
LB: Askew, Moody(should be done deal after wknd), King, Lathers, need 1 or 2 more in this next class
DB: Jackson, Myles, Gordon, Evans(nice spring),rogan, need couple more in class

Broussard basically just said tenn is high on his list by commiting. He's still wide open. I wouldn't be so certain he's all LSU because he will take a visit to tennessee eventually and being up here with our coaches. Our coaches give better visits than anyone in the country. So this race is still open. However, I agree it might start get the ball rolling, but the point you missed is that if more recruits go to tennessee, he may want to go there more.

Great news to get a great talent like this out of a enemy territory. It'd be sweet to get a pipeline out of Lake Charles. GO VOLS! Keep 'em comin'!

After reading Meat Market, you begin to realize that those sites will change their ratings according to the offers that they get. The ratings are not solely based off of their expert opinions.

This is from the scout article on 31 Mar 2009.

“If I put everybody in there then LSU is my favorite,” he said. “They get my first pick if they offer because they’re my hometown school. When I went there for junior day I loved the way they talked about academics and how they train you for football. My parents are big LSU fans too, and I know they’d like to see things work out with them.”

However, he did have the following to say about the Vols:

“Tennessee is my favorite right now out of the ones that offered,” said Broussard, who is being recruited by defensive line coach Ed Orgeron. “I like how their defense has played in the past, and what the new coaches have said about what they’re going to do. They talk a lot about taking care of you academic-wise.

“I like OU, Alabama and Oregon too, but I don’t know as much about them as I do about Tennessee. They send me stuff, but I haven’t gotten as much contact from the coaches as I have had with Tennessee.”
