No he's the last QB that we had that could avoid a ush and pick up yards with his legs. Munchie does this very well too.

Sorry - was sarcasm - because you get that remark anytime someone compared a black QB recruit to Steve McNair/Jason Campbell/etc.

I'm thinking we may need to start looking somewhere else since Heaps and Scroggins don't look to good right now. We're putting all our eggs in one basket, when there are other capable QB's out there.

Seems to be more like a Tony Robinson in that he uses his feet before he thinks about his arm.

I liked that he had the awareness to find the secondary receiver and inprovise when his blocking broke down. It's about ball contol and managing the game. He also shows nice touch on his throws, and is very allusive.

I was under the impression dual threat QBs were not an option with Kifffs O.

Not all dual threats are the same. He's got good size and it seems like he looks to pass before running. You could probably put Scroggins as a dual threat guy too.

I'm really high on Munchie though. I've heard some Louisiana guys talking about him and they love him.

I don't know about that, but when I'm really high I get the munchies...:p

He does look like a Duel QB. I like the way he checks down to other receivers and finds an open receiver if his man target isn't open. He looks like he could take care of the ball, and make good decisions al la run when necessary, or make the smart throw. His size puts him in to Kiffin's vision. Speeds not bad either. I think I would rather have a duel QB than a pocket passer because they can pick up positiv yardage and avoid the rush. Say Mac9 in his heyday and Marino in his. Both were great, but Marino probably had 300 yards his whole career. Plus, our line isn't that good so versatility isa must.

im not so sure i would go as far as putting jim mcmahon in marinos league, or even calling him great, was a hudge bears fan myself.

I would like to have a play maker at QB, be it this guy or whoever. But why did we pass on Boyd last year if we're looking at this guy this year? I don't understand.

Ht: 6-foot-4

That's one big reason. I don't fully understand the move with Boyd so I can't say for sure what the reasons behind him not fitting Lane's offense are. Some will speculate I'm sure.
