6'6" guy who can make things happen behind a shaky Offensive Line. #4 QB in the country and a 5* player. What's not to love?

Oh, that laptop deal....

nah, the laptop deal doesnt bother me. what you just posted is about all i know of him, and that he trucked Rogan, once. someone had posted that he wasnt playing that well before he got kicked out. maybe it was a UF fan, i dunno.

Oh, that laptop deal....

He can't throw the football.... but I guess that isn't important.

He is not a pro-style QB, would have been an NFL caliber TE if he had been smart out of HS.

Crompton was the #2 QB in the country. Whats not to love?

There should be love for Newton coming out. Sab and Vader agree with me when I say there is no QB coming out that will have the impact that Newton will. Newton is there for the taking, and we should take him.

Newton has had as much impact on the college level as Munchie... zero.

Kiffin is trying to implement a pro-style system, but bringing in a guy like Newton to play QB does not allow that system to be implemented.

He doesn't understand how to run a pro-style offense, he has no concept of the route tree that will need to be mastered in Kiffin's offense nor has he shown the ability to be a down-field threat. Newton hurts the development of our WRs/passing game if he is our QB in the beginning stages of installing the offense.

This is the equivalent of the excitement Ole Miss fans got when Brent Schaeffer was coming out of Juco. A great athlete that just isn't a QB.. and we all saw where that got Ole Miss and Orgeron with SChaeffer at the helm.

Newton > Schaffer. That is some valid points, but if you bring in Newton and Scroggins/Heaps then that would allow them time to get to know the system and get bigger, which then need IMO.

Why don't you compare NYCs list. I'm just not impressed with Hendrix, and you want to birth his children. We will never agree on him...

Well let's see...who is better at judging talent, a dozen coaches at division I schools or you. I will take the coaches every time and twice on Saturday.

I purty much used this argument in the Heaps vs. Scroggins debate, but you would not hear it. You can't have it both ways Sab...

Not sure what you're talking about. Scroggins has a very impressive offer list already and it will only continue to grow. Heaps has had video out for a long time so it's not surprising that he got a lot of offers very early.

We had that debate when Scroggins had hardly any offers. Regardless, I'm not gonna argue anymore about Hendrix...

Scrogs
Heaps
Newtons
Munchies
Hendrix

Scrogs got some upside, I see heaps being like a jimmy clausen, newtons huge but I believe needs more development than some think, the munchies looks promising [when don't they], probably fill out that frame some more...and Hendrix...could be a diamond in the rough, dunno of anything else to say.

Like to get Joe Boisture...why can't or won't we try to steal this kid from BC. Rhetorical.

Look at his offer list. "Diamond in the rough" is the wrong metaphor here.

I agree. His tape is very impressive. I like him more than I like Austin Hinder. The only guys that I see that are options for us that are better or better suited for this offense are Heaps and Scroggins. I put Hendrix right behind those two. It's really hard to watch his video and not come away thinking "this guy could really play at this level."
