Moeller junior QB Andrew Hendrix (6-3, 220) is getting a lot of interest these days with recent offers that include Indiana, Illinois and Kansas. He is also planning a visit to Virginia this weekend with a good chance at an offer.

Ohio State has also expressed interest – making a call to Moeller coach John Rodenberg on Wednesday. Rodenberg is waiting to hear from the Buckeyes once they review Hendrix's film.

Besides Virginia, Hendrix is also expected to visit Northwestern and Vanderbilt in the upcoming weeks.

Cincinnati.com reported that Illinois offered yesterday.

Hendrix threw for 1,731 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. He was fourth leading passer in the Greater Catholic League.

Quarterback Andrew Hendrix (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller), who already held scholarship offers from Illinois, Indiana and Kansas, headed south to visit Virginia over the weekend.

"I was there Friday and Saturday," Hendrix said. "They offered me as well. I talked to Coach (Al) Groh and the other coaches. I liked it a lot. Everything was nice and clean. The facilities are great. The academics are excellent."

However, Hendrix won't be selecting a college anytime soon. He plans to visit Northwestern the weekend of March 7 and Illinois sometime shortly after that. Hendrix will also visit Vanderbilt the weekend of March 21 and will head up to Ohio State in April for one of the Buckeyes' spring practices.

"I'm not making any favorites list right now," Hendrix said. "I'm just checking schools out and seeing who offers. Late in the spring or early summer I'll start making my list."

The 6-foot-3 and 220-pound Hendrix was not a starter his sophomore season. However, after completing 61% of his passes for 1,700 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior season, Hendrix is one of the fastest rising prospects in the Buckeye State.

"I have seven offers right now. Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Northwestern, Virginia, and Vanderbilt offer me (Tuesday) which was great news. I just send my film out to teams and ask what they think and so far the feedback has been positive."

Outside of those schools, Hendrix also has gotten interest from Cincinnati, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee.

"Certainly he likes Tennessee and he's gone to a couple of their camps. I believe he might have been invited to their Junior Day," Coach Rodenberg said. "We sent some film down to Florida to see if there would be any interest there."

"I now have eight scholarship offers," said Hendrix. "I have offers from Boston College, Illinois, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Virginia."

Three other schools may be close joining the offering schools.

"Wake Forest is close to offering, I think. Ohio State and NC State are both coming up here this spring to see me throw. Both have been talking to me more recently."

"Next week, we're on spring break and on Wednesday, we're coming down to Nashville to play a couple of games and get away from the raining Cincinnati spring. We'll be going to a Vanderbilt game on Wednesday and I think I'm going to try to meet the coaches while there and say hello since I'll be on campus. Also on that Wednesday, I'm going to visit Tennessee I think and then drive to Nashville and then visit while my team's watching the baseball game."

new rivals article today..he is ours if we offer

we are supposed to be visiting his school next monday i think to watch him throw

his highlight tape looks good...he can roll out and make throws pretty well

good arm it appears

He isn't necesarrily ours if we offer, we definitely never hinted to that in the article. This kid has a lot of good offers from good schools in the midwest, there is no reason for him to jump ship to UT once an offer rolls in.

He is a very good #2 QB to have in this recruiting class though. He has a very quick and accurate release to his throws. At one point while watching his tape, his arm motion and release was so quick I actually thought he pumped faked the ball. He has the ability to move around the pocket and pick up some yards on the run if need be. Arm strength is unknown however, none of his highlights were him throwing bombs down field.

I'd take him and Heaps/Scroggins.

i never said anyone hinted at anything.... just my opinion
if we offer... he will commit...we have early pt...he likes out lack of depth chart...we run a pro-style offense...and he is 6'3 220lbs and will fill out more...so i think he will fit our offense well...not too far away either

Yeah I'll agree with that, but the kid wants to go to med school and is also been offered by Vandy. Vandy has a very very good med school...

That would be after his undergraduate program he would have to go pre med 1st. He could do that here and if the football thing doesn't work out he could still go to med school at Vandy

Just because you go to undergrad somewhere doesn't make you a lock for their med school. I have friends from ETSU going to Med School at Vandy and UT. I also know people who did undergrad at Vandy or UT, but didn't get into Med School at either. It's more about how you perform in undergrad rather than where you went for undergrad.

alot of top level schools are very hesitant to allow undergrads into their grad school programs because they like to have fresh blood in these programs...harvard undergrads typically will not be accepted into harvard law or med school unless they are extremely good students or are insanely rich. i don't know if vandy has the same practice of looking for new students for grad school but it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

The whole undergrade no grad thing isnt as harsh as it used to be. Now with a lot of states getting these lottery scholys they are trying to keep their own blood instate. Alot of my friends who just garduated got into UT law and Med school. Especially now a days with the economy they have really opened it up to keep people in because no one wants to pay extreme out of state prices. Just because he wants to go to med school doesnt mean if he turns out to be great he drops it for the NFL.

“I got a chance to sit down and visit with Coach Lane Kiffin a lot,” Hendrix said. “I really like him a lot, I know he gets a bad rap on ESPN but it’s definitely not deserved. If you meet him you realize that’s not the type of person he really is. He is very straight forward, I appreciate that a lot.”

Free read, not "a lot" though.

I hate to say this , but he looks like he could be plugged right into CUM's offense. Looks like he might have a better arm than Timmy to..
