'10 OH QB Andrew Hendrix

Hendrix eluded to being involved behind the scenes with a school in a recent article. Probably not too far from the truth on that about him being close to our staff.

I thought about that also. I think Hendrix would be a great #2 QB to Scroggins or Heaps. It would be even better if we got Scroggins and Heaps but we all know that is not going to happen.

I'll be completely happy with Hendrix as a #2 QB. I wonder about Ohio St. offering him though. He has expressed a lot of interest in them.

I would say we are number 1 with a nice little lead. There is some reason we are not offering yet tho. IMO its because Heaps is close to committing and aftet that the peices will start to fall into place.

The "word" around here is OSU is chasing Montana really hard....if he commits elsewhere, they will be coming after this kid hardcore.

QB isn't a major priority for the Buckeyes with Pryor as a sophomore and then Braxton Miller coming in next year. I wouldn't really put much into that, especially since he said he grew up a Penn State fan.

The noise around here is they are pushing fairly hard for a pro-style QB in the '10 class. If Pryor accomplishes what he is athletically capable of, the thinking is that he wont be around after his Jr. year anyway. If they dont get a QB that can play in this class, and Pryor gets hurt in his Jr year (or even this year for that matter) they are royally screwed.

I'm not sure about the backup to Pryor right now, so I'm not sure what would happen if he would get hurt. But if he gets hurt his junior year, they'd have Braxton Miller to step in as a freshman.

I don't know though. I just can't see any major prospect going there knowing that they'd have Pryor in front of them and a likely top 5 player coming in the next year.

I dont keep up with OSU recruiting nearly as much as I do UT, so I had no idea who Braxton Miller was/is. Joe Bauserman is the current backup (played minor league baseball for a while right out of high school) he is a sophomore I believe. Dont remember the 3rd string guy, but he is no more than a scout team guy. I think OSU's situation would be perfect for a kid who wouldnt mind coming and waiting a year till TP bolts to the NFL (if he improves enough to do that). Still not nearly as attractive as our situation though.

Braxton Miller - Football Recruiting

MaxPrepsTV - Braxton Miller - Wayne, OH 2007 Football

Keep in mind the fact that he's a freshman in that highlight video in what I'm pretty sure is the top division in Ohio.

He's basically an OSU lock and is going to be a top 5 player in the class of 2011.

“Coach (Jim) Chaney the offensive coordinator came by the school to watch us practice last Monday morning,” Hendrix told InsideTennessee.com. “I spoke to him that evening and he said he liked what he saw during the practice. Now he is just waiting on the final approval from head coach Lane Kiffin.”

“Tennessee is definitely up at the top,” Hendrix said. “I’m really staying open to everyone that is interested in me right now. I will probably narrow my list sometime in the next 30 days or so.”

Now a 4 star and #200 overall player per rivals. I know stars do not mean much but still...
