Hendrix eluded to being involved behind the scenes with a school in a recent article. Probably not too far from the truth on that about him being close to our staff.
I'll be completely happy with Hendrix as a #2 QB. I wonder about Ohio St. offering him though. He has expressed a lot of interest in them.
I dont keep up with OSU recruiting nearly as much as I do UT, so I had no idea who Braxton Miller was/is. Joe Bauserman is the current backup (played minor league baseball for a while right out of high school) he is a sophomore I believe. Dont remember the 3rd string guy, but he is no more than a scout team guy. I think OSU's situation would be perfect for a kid who wouldnt mind coming and waiting a year till TP bolts to the NFL (if he improves enough to do that). Still not nearly as attractive as our situation though.
“Coach (Jim) Chaney the offensive coordinator came by the school to watch us practice last Monday morning,” Hendrix told InsideTennessee.com. “I spoke to him that evening and he said he liked what he saw during the practice. Now he is just waiting on the final approval from head coach Lane Kiffin.”
“Tennessee is definitely up at the top,” Hendrix said. “I’m really staying open to everyone that is interested in me right now. I will probably narrow my list sometime in the next 30 days or so.”
