'10 PREP OL Morgan Moses

Guys this really is becoming a post we are seeing more and more of...We are gonna struggle and for all of those that think that the University of Tennessee recruits itself and it is easy to get a kid here are kidding themselves...It might get ugly!

Typically the first year of a new coach involved in a coaching change is his worst year recruiting wise. This year will not be indicative of Kiffin's recruiting ability. He is getting in on alot of these players late in the game when other schools have recruited and developed relationships with these kids for months now. We might lose a few but we will also gain a few. I really don't consider guys like Teague a loss because he favored UF before CPF was let go. Right now it's more of a concern to assemble the right staff.

I will crap my pants if Moses goes to UA....he and D.J. Fluker on the OL would give Bama such an edge for a long time. They would have an Andre Smith on both sides of the line basically.

Morgan, you are NEEDED here and have a spot waiting on a team with a Pro-savvy staff! Come on down to Rocky Top!

The problem is that UT can't afford an off year like the teams they hope to compete against. If Tenn produced homestate talent then it would be different. However the Vols don't have that starting base to work from every year.

Whether there's an excuse/reason for it or not... Kiffin needs to make a real push this year. One hiccup and the probability that UT is looking for a new AD and HFC within 3 years goes up exponentially.

I hate to be negative...but I'm feeling really down with all this recruiting news lately. We were doing well, and I know it's not over till the fat lady sings in Feb. I just need some good news(DT A. Jeffrey was good news). We need to land one each of the big WR/Ath, OL, and DE/DL to salvage this class. A QB would be music to my ears, however unlikely. I'm not freaking out. It's just been a lousy month personally and I need a pickme-up. I'm aware that stars aren't everything and sometimes highly rated players bust quite often, but often stars do matter and sometimes highly rated players excell. The staff has their work cut out for them in the spring and fall and I hope, optimistically, that everything comes together like fine art for a comeback season for the Vols. Thanks for letting me vent...I needed it. GO VOLS!!!

Dude, chill. CLK has been the head coach for 3 weeks. Get off his back and let him do his job. You can't expect anyone to come in the first year and make a huge turn around in the best conference in the SEC.

This recruiting class would be asolutely fine if Fulmer wouldn't have dropped the ball on last years class.

I don't follow that logic. nonetheless it does not matter why. if they have a bad class, it will be ahuge problem.

There wouldn't be as many needs to fill this year if we'd knocked some of them out last year. Specifically OL and DL.

I hope we are still in the running to get this guy. I finally got to see a few highlights and he is brutal when he pulls. I really like the fact that after he pancaked a guy he was up moving down the fiedl looking for more.

Stop worrying we will have a top 15 class this year and will be in the top 5 every year with CLK as head coach.

Morgan Moses received recent offers from Oklahoma and UCLA."Morgan was just visited by Oklahoma and UCLA and received offers from both," said Morgan's father, Morris Moses. "They heard about him in Hawaii and saw the game and were very impressed. Both schools sent players to his school since he got back and he's excited about both of them."

Moses, a 6-foot-7, 347-pounder, has already taken an official visit to West Virginia and has four official trips left to take. However, he might just make three of them. His first trip is already scheduled for Jan. 16.

"He's going to Alabama on Jan. 16," his father said. "He likes them a lot. They came in to see him despite some bad weather the day they were supposed to arrive. The coaches love his athletic ability for such a big kid. Alabama is kind of far away so Morgan wanted to take an official visit there. He wants to visit schools that we can't drive to on his officials."

The other schools that could get officials include Ohio State, Oklahoma and UCLA.

Just before the game in Hawaii he was asked where he was leaning, and his main two that he talked about were Tennessee and Ohio State. There wasn't even mention of Bama. Since the game he got interest from Oklahoma and UCLA, but I feel like we have been after him longer than those two, and are more likely to get a visit from him than these two newcomers. Plus that article was all from his dad's perspective. I value what Morgan says over his father.

Scott was recruiting but he may not be on staff. I would love to have him but I don't think it will happen.

I think Scott goes to UVA and I dont think Moses has the grades to get in to UVA.

Well, part one of your prediction is true, Scott is gone. Now we'll just have to hope distance is a big enough factor to keep him away from Alabama and Oklahoma, grades eliminate UVA and UCLA, and he likes UT! We really need him...
