'10 RB Marcus Lattimore

I would love just one great RB. Barr, Latimore, Dyer, Seastrunk

Just one........

Any chance we pull him now that we have miller and willis?

Maybe, our staff will go after him hard now, that's for sure...

There 2 things that make me think he might not. 1) he dropped FSU from his top 5 after Miller committed to the Noles. 2) Bernard may commit before Lattimore has a chance

After rereading Rexvols original post on Miller, Miller stated that him, Willis and Lattimore wanted to play together. So maybe there is a chance with this kid.

It's possible that Lattimore was considering FSU so strongly because Miller was committed there. If he gives us another strong look, it wouldn't surprise me. Apparently UGA has reentered the picture with him recently so that's something to watch. They definitely have a need at the position.

if we werent loaded its a no brainer..but not sure with Brown, OKU, Poole, and Williams. However, Lattimore is a stud back that has NFL written all over him. I think he could easily come in and split carries with Bryce next yr. Oku would be our scat back...the question is does he believe that he can do that

I'm not sure if the info about all three wanting to play together is true. When Miller committed to FSU, Lattimore dropped them from his top 5. Miller and Willis both stated early in the process that they wanted to go out of state, but Lattimore has had South Carolina towards his top since he started getting recruited.

Well if he has any sense he'd be smart not to go there. Not trying to be a jerk, but you can't exactly say going to Usc will prepare him for the NFL, on the sole reason of where's the proof?

I can agree with that considering it has been a LONG time since we have had a good back in the NFL. (Duce Staley) But he has been a Gamecock fan his whole life and his sister goes there, so even if he chooses not to go to USC they will probably be in it until the end.

Fair enough, I can agree with that

I'd say if his sister goes to USC, it's his favorite growing up, and in state he'll be hard to pull. Only thing that would create some hope would be staff issues.... And those may happen sooner rather than later.

I doubt Lattimore goes to Clemson. They made him mad early in the recruiting process. Auburn may end up getting Lache Seastrunk.

That was quite awhile ago, and Lattimore stopped taking visits with Miller and Willis, and only had UNC in common with them as far as schools.

Lattimore was high on the Barn at the beginning of the summer, but I don't think they are his leader anymore. I am not sure if Auburn gets any big back this year, unless the season really ends up good for them. Lache looks like a good fit for LSU. I think Dyer is a 3 way battle between Ark/UT/Auburn with UT gaining some strides with him. Lattimore I would not count out USC for his services yet. Still alot will depend on how teams finish up the season and where all these backs go.

Lattimore is usually high on schools he visits, then he kinda backs off. That's how it was for Auburn and Oregon.

Lattimore has stated records won't matter. He said at the time he released his final five. I think he realizes the disparity in strength of schedule for the teams he is considering. Some media are saying USC's is the most difficult schedule in the country.

It'd be a shame to see him make that mistake...It's a coaching graveyard and a running backs graveyard.

Lattimore should take a look at Derek Watson and Demetrius Summers. They're perfect examples of what happens to big-time, palmetto-state talent who choose to become Gamecocks.
