I believe Hardegree was on scholarship. I know he went on to play tennis for UT on scholly.

Hardegree was on scholarship b/c of Daniel Brooks, IMO... I know that he won the TN hs tennis state championships, but didn't think he played tennis in college, are you sure about that?

Point is...if Bo wallace has ANY talent and wants to play for UT...take a chance. What could it hurt. He is not going to keep a high profile QB from signing in 2010. He could turn into an Andy Kelly..?? Never know.

Are you serious? Why don't we do that for every position and see how that works.

The only reason Hardegree was on scholly was because he was teammates with Daniel Brooks and his dad was their HC and I believe they were a package deal.

He is a state kid...plays Qb...UT needs a QB....why not????

Not for every position....that was never said. What would it hurt...for that position of need? He would not keep a better QB from signing.

hardegree could have ben a decent QB he just had the missfortune of coming in the same year as schaffer and ainge, then we landed JC.

Bo would not be my 1st choice......obviously...but I have seen him play several times and the kid is really good. What would it hurt to see what he grows into. 3rd/4th string as a frosh...so what. As of now...UT will have 2 qb's on campus next year. I know NSD is not until Feb, but why not have 4 or 5 qb's on campus next year and have some choices???

I am sure they would be happy to let him walk-on. This staff isnt going to just give away scholarships to players they dont think can contribute at this level, just cause they are "local".

It hurts because it would be a wasted scholly and there are a plethora of better options.

He'll get an offer from somebody. I strongly doubt he would come to UT as a walk-on.

I saw this guy play tonight at Cookeville. He led the team about 85 yards with 3 minutes left in the game to take the lead but wound up losing 25-24 on a td pass with 3 seconds left. It would have been 24-0 without him. His line is terrible and his best receiver is a little 5'7 kid. If he had some talent around him I think he'd be getting a lot more pub. He moved away from pressure in the pocket very well and has the ability to make plays with his legs. He has a very strong arm and was very accurate despite running for his life most of the night. On the last drive he had to call a timeout to throw up and almost scored on the next play. He's a gutsy guy that has all the physical attributes. He'll be a big surprise for somebody.

How does that Espinosa kid look? I haven't seen him play, but I listened to the game on the radio. He's got size 6'4
almost 200 lbs. This is his first year as full time starter for Cookeville.

His arm is not as strong as Wallace but he came through in the clutch for them. Cookeville used roll out or play action most of the time where Wallace threw out of the shotgun quite a bit. The ball kind of floats out of his hand. He throws the deep ball good but the short passes didn't have much zip on them. He also threw a pick right to a linebacker with no receivers in the area. Wallace just seemed much more comfortable in the pocket. Espinosa took advantage of every mistake Giles Co made and it won them the game.

Just an update from the game last Friday (Idk how accurate this is. I got this out of Giles Co. local paper. Especially the Espinosa stat of 5 TD's when Cookeville only scored 25 pts???:

Giles Co.(4A) 24 vs. Cookeville 6A) 25

QB Bo Wallace 12-of-21 for 177 yards and 2 TD's and 105 yards rushing.

QB Mason Espinosa 15-of-26 for 307 yards and 5 Td's

Wallace is going to be shouting Rocky Top next year and every year afterwords. Kiffen and Co. told him they loved him..... His mechanics are all perfect....... He may go to a DI school other than Tennessee. Of course, there is talk that he could possibly go as a DB.

If it's overhype that's hilarious trying to pull that, but could still be a typo that Cookeville actually scored 35.

I'm shocked...
Not tennessee material...first play of the game for Wallace...INT. But I guess it don't help when you throw a 50 yard jump ball and your receiver is 5'6" with the guy guarding him at 6'2". But he drove back down and answered on a 30 yard touchdown pass.
