'10 TX LB Corey Nelson

Dumb question, but do we really think LV and Sab were just wingmen of the old staff and would leave this board with the staff? Or are they just vol fans in the know (or with very good instincts...)?

I can't wait to hear some news on his visit. I think since he brought his family we really have a shot with him. Maybe I've had too much Dooley Diesel. (Orange Kool-Aid)

It sounds like Nelson did show up this weekend and hung out with LT at the basketball game. If that is true I am very excited about our chance with him.

Dooley and his staff recruited the state of Texas mostly, so Im guessing Dooley probably reached out to Nelson early on but of course had nothing to sell at the time. I think we have a good shot to get Nelson, probably better now than when the loser was here!

Corey Nelson enjoyed his visit. his parents also made the trip. don't know where we stand in comparison to A&M with him, but we certainly didn't hurt our chances this weekend.

this is the msg i just received from the same guy who fills me in on the goings on in Texas, keep in mind he is a southwest conference kinda guy lol

Jay, from what I'm hearing on Nelson, his parents had bought non-refundable plane tickets that had to be used... They had planned to go up there and visit with the Kiffins...

if LK was still there, this really might have been something... But from what I'm hearing, don't write them off because he did enjoy the trip quite a bit, but they're probably not as huge a threat without CLK and Monte...

Wasn't this an OV for Nelson? If so, the kid AND his parents get paid for by the school.

This sounds like BS.

Nope, we had one with the other staff because of Monte.

Brent contacted him and he will remain an Aggie

Dallas Skyline recruiting coordinator R.J. Bond talked to Nelson today about his college choices and Nelson has set up at least one more visit to Oklahoma this weekend and looks to be down to Oklahoma and Texas A&M for his final decision.

Even with Monte Lance was struggling to bring in linebackers in this class.

Strangest thing...

UT has a tradition of sending lots of LBs to the NFL.

I wish that Al Wilson cared to learn how to coach LB so that he could be our LB coach in a few years.
