But not five-star DE Jackson Jeffcoat, who is expected to pledge to Texas this morning. But the Sooners did bounce back nicely and, according to ESPN affiliate OUInsider.com, secure four-star LB Corey Nelson, who had committed to Texas A&M last summer. Most observers acknowledged that Oklahoma had made up a lot of ground on the Aggies but still expected Nelson to honor his original commitment, so this rates as a bit of a coup.
It'll be interesting to see how much Nelson plays next fall. If he's still under 200 pounds he might need a redshirt year before he's ready to do battle in the Big 12. OU loses two starting LBs (OLB Keenan Clayton and MLB Ryan Reynolds) but has plenty of depth behind them.
