Are we still going to spend $1.7M to $1.8M per year for our new head coach?
If so, don't look for UT football to do anything special for a LONG time.. I have written NASCAR off. They screwed up a good thing. I can't watch that crap they call racing anymore.. Now I feel like I'm being pushed down the same path with UT football.
If the UTAD and the "powers that be" (i.e. Cheek, etc.) don't get their "poop grouped" and FIX THIS MESS, then I will be doing the same with UT football. I'm not a filthy rich booster so as a fan it's the only 'voice' I have..
More importantly though, I love UT football too much to continure watching it die a slow and agonizing death..
There was a back-handed comment in there that completely went over your head.
I need to see what Intrade and Nate Silver said.
names I've been hearing last few days are fisher and golden. guess we will see. could be different names in a few days..
FWIW, I probably didn't feel this way until September of this year. I was at the Akron game. While most stadiums in the developed world would be overflowing and at capacity with that kind of crowd, Neyland seemed empty if not literally than at least figuratively. It made me want to vomit. Why? My family's roots in Tennessee go back multiple centuries. Our implicit affiliation with UT goes back over a century. Our explicit affiliation (attendance and alumni) goes back over eight decades. Because this is Tennessee, support should never wane... I've been to a lot of crappy no-name-opponent games in my nearly 30 years of following UT football but I've never seen NS like that. This, simply speaking, cannot be the way--it is not our history and it is not our destiny. Football, in the state of Tennessee, represents so much more--and is so much richer--than the game itself.
