Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Louisville, Tennessee, and UAB all interested

"I got an offer from Tennessee like two weeks ago," Jones said

"I kind of like Tennessee but I know they got a new head coach coming in and I know they're building," he said. "I'd love to be a part of that rebuilding group and having a chance to start as a freshman. That's pretty big for me, getting a chance to play as a freshman."

Jones was truly a jack of all trades as a junior. He had six interceptions and 65 tackles on defense and he had seven total touchdowns. One touchdown was on an interception return, two more were on punt returns and the rest were rushing touchdowns.

UA has not offered him yet, but we picked alot of DBs for 2010 and may only pick up 2 or 3 for 2011. I am not sure how high on our board this kid is.

This kid can play... he is really good in coverage from the safety spot... not a punishing type safety like loften tho... could probably play cb...

Looking at his comments I think he will commit to Alabama if they offer. And if he is as good as people say Saban will not let him go without an offer. Other than Alabama I would say we have a good shot.

Saban went to his basketball game to watch him play so you know?:hmm:

Alabama? He told Scout that UT is recruiting him hardest but if Florida offered he might commit to them. Doesn't even mention alabama.

"The Tennessee and Louisville offers stand out. I am looking for a school that plays true freshmen and looking for out-of-state guys. Those schools put their athletes on the field. They let you play when you come in."

"The most interest is probably coming from Tennessee," he said.

Per Scout...

I think UA might have some interest but will wait until camps during tthe summer to offer. So if he wants to commit now UT might be prime for his services.

Again, he doesn't mention alabama at all. Being from minor doesn't guarantee that he is going to alabama whether there is "interest" or not.

BAMA is hard to beat for most in state kids they want. With that said, BAMA and Florida both signed a fairly high number of db/athlete types last year. Guess if UT folk are looking for silver lining maybe its depth chart issues might help us
