Even in head to head, late season losses verses running the table will always be detrimental. Right, wrong, or indifferent.I cannot envision many scenarios in which UT loses to UGA and Bama wins out that leave UT ranked over Bama.
But for purposes of the SECCG, the Vandy results might make the difference depending on which teams remain tied at 6-2. If it's more than a three-way tie between Bama, UT, and UGA (some combination of Texas, A&M, OM, and LSU), then common opponents won't matter and Tennessee would have almost no shot due to a weak record amongst their conference opponents.
