'11 FL DE James Wilder Jr.

I dont know if your joking but espn has been the better talent evaluators this cycle imo.

No I don't know what you thought my angle would have been if kidding, but I was saying I go with him being a 4* because I put more stock into espn rankings.

Oh ok. For a while ESPN was considered the far worse of the three major sites and people made jokes about its bad ratings, so i didnt know if you were being sarcastic or not.

Watching the AA game made me believe Wilder would be a great change of pace back for us. He could definitely get carries.

Maybe I'm the odd man out, but after watching the game today....I'm gonna get flamed for this....but in the words of GSP...."I am not impressed with your performance". You'd think that the #1 RB in the nation would have a better game than that, especially with it being an all-star game. I'm all for him playing for UT, but I seriously hope it's on defense.

Wow.....first time I've ever been negative about a recruit. Feels kinda weird.

He's not the #1 RB, he's the #1 Athlete/LB. Most of the high praise is for his play as LB.

Contrary to what others have posted, I was actually impressed with the way he played at RB. He obviously is still way better fitted to play LB in college, but he showed me today with the right coaching and training that he could be a respectable RB in college..He just would never reach his full athletic potential at RB as he would at LB, and would also possibly be throwing away millions of dollars he would make in the NFL.

Wilder does not run with the right body lean to be a RB at higher levels, but he is going to be a stud linebacker.

Yeah, everyone that makes it into the league as a running back had perfect form and great body lean coming out of high school...Wilder can be coached. his hype is at linebacker, his potential is all over.

ATH James Wilder, five-star, Florida State commit
Assets: Has great overall size and strength, along with excellent ball skills and is a superior athlete.
Areas for improvement: Running with lower pad level between the tackles and picking his feet up higher in traffic.
What was most impressive in game: Had 39 yards rushing and 20 yards receiving but no play was better than the stiff arm he threw on the 17-yard screen pass.
Conclusion: He is the top prospect in Florida and another heated debate will be where he falls among the nation's other running backs.
