"That was really great and we spent the whole day there," Ely stated. "I looked around the place with my coach and my parents. I love the stadium. It's so frickin' big. Coach (Derek) Dooley and (quarterbacks) coach (Darin) Hinshaw are nice people. That's a place I can see myself at."

"It's not a big place," the Tampa (FL) Plant standout continued. "I thought there would be like 30,000 students that go there but apparently there are only 15,000. It's small, but those are big football guys there. They have a good education and a real nice location right on the river."

Ely visited UT this past Wednesday. Dooley is doing a GREAT job getting top tier talent to visit.

Ely is a 4star and the #5 Pro-Style QB on Rivals.

He doesn't have a UT offer yet, but does hold offers from LSU, Clemson, Mich St, Ariz St, Wake, Cincy, Iowa St, USF, Rutgers, Vandy, FAU, FIU, and UCF.

JUNIOR: Led Plant to the Florida 5A State Title, Ely passed for 1,860 yards with 20 TDs and just three interceptions. Honorable Mention All State QB for 5A classification.

He comes from a great line of Plant High School QBs. The 2 before him were Robert Marve and Aaron Murray.

He should visit when classes are actually in session. The place seems so much more dull in the summer since everyone is gone.

Agreed. I went to UTC, and if he's saying that there's only 5K more at UTK than at UTC, I'm not sure I want him leading our offense... :question:

Number two Qb on the Gators list...Not sure if Meyer is as sold on this kid as Scott Loeffler so maybe that's why UF hasn't offered yet but the kid is very competitive and comes from a GREAT program...once he camps he'll rise on many boards. His coach thinks bama will offer soon. Named to the AA game.

I sent VF an article on Thursday about this kid and his visit, he has not been able to get it up yet. Maybe tomorrow.
