he is more than a half a step slow and i really wasn't trying to 1-up you or whatever you think i do everytime i post.
Needs Improvement: Johnson has a tendency to play high at the point of attack. He will need to stay lower and become the attacker, not the attacked. He also needs to improve lateral quickness by improving flexibility in the knees and hips if he intends to play linebacker in college.
Conclusion: I believe that he will be given a shot at playing linebacker, but like Allen Bailey at Miami he will end up with his hand on the ground. Those schools that passed on him because of mobility issues will regret it, because Johnson will overcome that with his tenacious attitude on the football field.
Point being: Every recruit has a knock. You say Gallon is more than a step slow. His 40 time is no worse than Matt Milton's who is on scholarship. So to say if he was faster he'd have a scholarship offer (and leave it at that, which is what you originally did and sparked this conversation) just wouldn't be fully correct. As you said, it is one of the reasons but not the only.
All I'm sayin'.
Right, but I copied that from Rivals. Soooo how do they think he'll be a LB when the conclusion says otherwise?
My point wasn't even about A.J. Johnson. The point is that people ARE knocking his mobility be we offered him. Soooo, you don't just not offer a guy based on 1 criteria.
I mean we can really keep doing this if you want.
Ok so if Gallon runs a 4.4 one time in camp we'll offer. Right? One 40 time = scholly.
Milton is listed at 4.57 and Gallon a 4.5 on Rivals.
