went and saw this kid play last night against Prattville, it was his first start as a qb, he was on fire, i dont have numbers but this kid is the real deal, beat the #5 team in the nation in his first start.
“I have a teacher that is a huge Tennessee fan,” Uzomah told InsideTennessee.com Sunday morning. “He tells me a lot of great things about the atmosphere and the school.”
“A lot of people call it controversy, I call it excitement,” Uzomah said. “I want to take a trip to UT. I want to visit the new coaching staff and see what they are all about.”
I find it hard to believe that this many top programs have offered him a scolly with only 3 good games. Is this true? And Im not into 40 times but if he's not being recruited as a QB then his 4.9 forty time isnt gona cut it as a WR in the SEC
On the heels of the visit, Ozumah picked up a scholarship offer from the Cats.
"They just offered him today," Sphire said. "And he's incredible. Absolutely incredible. I've had some good quarterbacks during my time coaching, and he has the potential to be be a great player someday. He's definitely an SEC-type player."
At close to 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, Ozumah bears a striking resemblance to former UK star Andre Woodson.
"That's funny you mention it because C.J. was a fan of Andre Woodson," Sphire said. "That's one of the reasons why he was interested in checking out Kentucky. He likes what they did with Andre up there.
Part of that success is due to Tennessee's big win over Georgia. And although Uzoma lives in Bulldog country, the Vols were hyped up quiet a bit thanks to some classmates.
"A lot of people from my school actually went there. Chris Hawkings, he's actually going to play baseball there, he went up and so a bunch of people went with him and some people that I know have some siblings that go there," Uzomah stated. "But, they all came back with a bunch of stories of how crazy it was in the stands and how great Tennessee is. So, there's been a little bit more talk."
