With a better understanding, we will all get along great. Your post are somewhat of an enigma; I read them and can't decipher their meaning. Sometimes I read them twice and I get two different conclusions.

JHOP is a Duck fan you would think if that is what he reported then he would find a way to share it with his fellow Duck fans.

Avery will think past football and pick Cal just like Wayne Lyons is going to Stanford. Sports fans think football/winning these type of kids think degree.

It depends on what he's going for, but I agree, we tend not to take that into consideration as fans.

i got a question i just thought of when i was thinking about us passing on walls and don't want to start a new thread about it cause it's kinda about him. but with him being a pretty highly ranked recruit with most of the big southeast schools passing on him because of stiff hips, is it more common that highly rated players out of states like tennessee, where there's not a pedigree of D1 athletes year in year out, are busts compared to states like texas, florida, georgia and others? it just made me wonder. not saying avery is going to be a bust, i wish him the best where ever he goes. sorry if this is too long

He's not from Tennessee, he's from Georgia.

Recruiting from smaller states with less D1 talent is a double-edged sword. Sometimes, the lesser level of competition magnifies their talents, and they end up not being THAT good. Schools sometimes pass on players because of that.

That ends up biting coaches in the ass sometimes. Just depends.

Avery is a really solid football player. He reminds me of Ahmad Black. Nothing flash but always in position... maybe not SEC starter but would make the two deep. Cal, Oregan or Mich is getting a good player.

yeah i know he's from georgia. i thought i put that in there but i guess i erased it. i'm saying he is a fairly high rated player out of a big football state, and that he's getting passed on by the big programs down here. i hope he does well where ever he goes, which i think will be oregon

I agree. I always thought he was a good solid prospect.

Per who?

I guess if he wants to go to a mediocre program whose defensive specialty is faking injuries, that's cool.

Pretty sad this mediocre program regurally cleans your clock recruiting and has a winning record against Oregon since tedford arrived.
