We ARE striking out at DT recruitment. Our dept chart is a joke. Florida ran up the middle at will including a touchdown. 255lb tackles are unthinkable in this league. By now our DT recruitment should be over by have 3 to 4 300lb space eaters in the bag. Hard hard in it to say "Would like to start next year or be in the rotation as a true frosh"

It's totally that easy. Wonder why our staff hasn't thought of that? Someone should let them know to try this method.

Considering the need and the obvious immediate PT available, there is no doubt they are struggling big-time with DT recruiting.

I imagine a whole lot more JUCO's will show up on the board from now until signing day.

You would think, for JUCO's especially, that immediate PT is priority #1.

I just pray they get enough capable DT's in here for the next few seasons so they dont have to move natural DE's to the position where their abilities will be more limited.

This is where a proven recruiter is critical. I have seen that Coach Smith is very good at coaching based on what he has to work with, but can and the other members of the staff go head to head to with the heavyweights for elite talent. Time will tell. We don't need anymore Bill Duff's and Edward Kendrick's or Matt McGlothin at the DT position.

Never hurts to try, but I seriously doubt we can turn Richardson away from Mizzou.

You are wrong, how did they score the running touchdown. Our small DT was on roller skates and was 5 years in the end zone after the play.

Lol. So one play constitutes them running up the middle at will. That is very sound logic. Dont look at the stats for the entire game. Look at one play. Smart.

The point is they ran it where they wanted when they needed to....

So all the other times they tried to run the ball up the middle in the game they didnt get yards because they didn't 'need to' get them? How about when they ran the ball on back-to-back plays on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1? They didnt 'need' to get that first down. Using one play to back up your argument is ridiculous.

With no depth at DT and talent to rotate in, the line got worn down. Ayers at 262, Skyles 270, Bowens a transfer from TSU. How do you think it going to be when we play a power running team who runs smash mouth. BAMA, SC LSU.

I can think of a bunch of inside run plays where they were getting at least 5 yards. It was the outside runs and delayed handoffs where they weren't doing much

Right... Florida really does not have a power running game. We are small in the middle at DT- MLB. We will be exposed badly over the next month or so. Ingram, Richardson, King, Lattimore .

King? Are you kidding? Even when Georgia's line has blocked in the past their underachieving running backs screw it up.
