'11 MI WR DeAnthony Arnett - UT Commit

I'm staying cautiously optimistic about Arnett and the level of his commitment.

Has he done anything to make us question his commitment? Not being a smart ass just curious.

I asked because DA had been texting JH to join him on the Hill since he committed. JH has had misgivings about Notre Dame for a while and with Tennessee having been one of his finalists plus DA committing and working him, it became a possibility that JH decided that UT would be the best for him as well.

Since it appears that CDD did not return the interest, I wondered if DA would start to re-think his commitment based on a perceived slight of his friend.

Does that answer your question as to why?

No offense, but that is ridiculous.

Anyone that plays the recruiting game the way he did just makes me remain cautious until NSD. Nothing against DA himself at all.

What makes you so sure?

Because he's the most recent commit. I think he will be good but a month ago everyone was talking about Vincent Dallas. It's just the nature of the recruiting world to overhype every recruit and get pissed off when they don't live up to those standards

Usually I agree but I think we're really fine here. Baggett has a great relationship not only with Arnett but with his family also. Unless Charlie leaves we're fine.

No, it's just Arnett has very crisp skills. He is very solid in his route running, can make any catch, and has speed and quickness to go with it. Baggett is a very good WR coach and will get the most potential out of his WR's. His resume speaks for itself. If you know how good Baggett is as a coach and if you watch Arnett on film you will see that he is going to be a solid WR in any system but Baggett could really make this kid a stud add to the fact their relationship already. That goes for Dallas too. I think both and any WR for that matter we get is going to be solid for us with Baggett as their position coach in Chaney's system.

Whoever starts in the slot will have some big shoes to fill. My worry with the young WR corps next year is the the 3rd down conversions we struggled with when Jones was out. We all saw immediately with his return the importance of sure hands and route running on 3rd down. I could definately see Arnett being that guy.

What's the difference in Wes Welker and Arnett besides skin color? Only thing is maybe Arnett has more big play ability and Welker is a little bit tougher, but other than that I see them as two very productive slot receivers.
