He was at the Orange and White game, right? Seems like a big time Center at a huge position of need for us. #4 C on Scout. Do we have a chance? Or should we focus on Luatua and/or Crowder? Merge if necessary.

we want Luatua at center. if we for some reason miss on him, kelly may be our guy.

and you are correct, he was here for the Orange White game.

If there is serious interest (and we do get Luatua, which is looking good) why not sign Kelly as a Guard?

Kelly just picked up a Florida State offer last week.

He's a good prospect.

I know his parents have had University of Cincinnati seasons tickets for a few years now so I would imagine they are a real factor for him as well.

Still think Kiffin pulls the kid from Cali.

we might want to get this guy as a fail safe.

No I seriously doubt Kiff gets Luatua. He has a really good relationship with Hiestand

You think Luatua is higher on UT's board than Kelly, LV? Just curious. I could see it as a serious positive if UT really knows who they want independent of rankings. Still, Kelly seems like a great prospect. Especially considering his apparent interest in UT.

Could this be a bad sign regarding Luatua, or is it just the coaching staff taking initiative before this prospect gets more popular on the camp circuit?

I'd say it is a bad sign regarding Luatua.

That said, I think getting Kelly out of Cincinnati is going to be a very difficult pull.

Kelly, who holds double-digit offers, most recently added one from Tennessee and says he is currently doing his research to learn more about Derek Dooley's program.

"I think we are going to take a South tour," he said. "I think it will be a tour of Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and Florida State. I just want to get on the campus. I am trying to get there during camps so that they will all be there and they can show me around."

Why is it, because we offered another prospect?? Man, if that was the case, we should only offer prospects a few at a time, but that's not the way recruiting works and you know this.

Yeah, maybe it's called we actually saw him in person and evaluated him and think he can be a player...

It would obviously be stupid to offer one guy at the C position and expect him to be our guy, no matter how much he likes UT. We obviously evaluated this player in person and liked him. Thinking this is a bad sign for Luatua and UT is one being naive.

I'm glad we finally offered. Kelly must have impressed with the in-person workout.
Kelly has an Alabama offer, too. So either way we will be battling Bama for one of these OC guys. Kelly's offer list is just as impressive as Luatua's IMO. Landing him would make me very happy.

maybe the staff showing attention to this kid will have some influence on Luatua pulling the trigger and committing to UT.

"My coach had been talking to coach (Scott) Loeffler from Florida and since Tennessee offered they wanted to follow," Kelly said. "I was supposed to do a Skype call with coach (Nick) Saban from Alabama on Tuesday but they decided to go ahead and offer too."

- Rivals article. I think this quote says a lot about how solid and respected our staff is.

I just hope these players understand the work our staff does to study them and not get spellbound by FL and Bama's recent success when they try and swoop in after.
