Bama lock it appears

Fear not. I know I'm biased but when Mack Crowder takes over that slot you will never remember Ryan Kelly.

Big and will end up 300+, super smart and can call all the blocking assignments, mean and lives to finish people off, quick (uses the snap count to his advantage), and will walk the walk for all four years regardless.

Just my 2 cents worth.

They view him as a guard. Gives them 2 OL in class. Think they will take 4. Will hold 1 scholly for CK. Leaves 1 open spot to fill. Region?

Let's hope...that would pretty much leave Richardson all to us

If it puts us in a better position to land Richardson, then I will actually cross my fingers and hope that he picks Bama today.

Gotcha. Makes since then. Hopefully this helps in our pursuit of Richardson. I guess we'll see.

R Kelly to UA and now the S Region to Wisconsin stories make sense. We were only looking to take one guard in this class and Kelly got that spot.

Exactly. :good!: I think Bama will take two more OL -- Cyborg and then probably either Xzavier Ward or Aaron Morris (possibly both, but I doubt there'll be room for both), and that Antonio Richardson will go to the Vols. We'll see.

Not too worried about this one. I have buddies on both the OSU and Cincinnati staffs and they both felt like he was totally over-recruited. I know OSU never offered and Cincinnati pretty much stopped recruiting him over the last month or so. There are a couple other guys up here this year as well who are being completely over-recruited. Sean Duggan and Donovan Clark.

I think X Ward and Cyrus. Rumors floating around that UA looks really good for Ward. He is bringing his family with him to UA next weekend. I would not be surprised to see him commit after the visit.

Now this saddens me because I really wanted Richardson, but I think he was heading to UT anyway. CDD looks to lock up all the instate OL this year and it will be a great OL class. Even compared to other states.

I can't blame Saban for wanting to lock up the kids who are ready to commit now instead of playing around with a kid until NSD. Pretty much what I figured in the Richardson thread.

Don't take me wrong because I do think UA would make room for him in the end, but I believe he is all Vol anyway.

Not dissin' you or your buddies, but consider that OSU probably got their 1st choices of in-state OLs including the #1 OC and they don't have room to take all of the good OLs in Ohio. Consider also that maybe Cincy retreated and moved on because they weren't going to land him. Again, not dissin' you or your buddies, just sayin' their perspective might not be totally unbiased. With the Cincy guy, there may be just a little bit of "oh we didn't really want him anyway" going on there. Ya know?

My understanding is that Bama's OL coach evaluated him extensively and is very high on him. Ryan is a high character young man with good size, athleticism, agility feet, motor and toughness. Reese Dismukes, an in-state OC, was originally higher on UA's board, but was pretty much AU bound from the get go. Region has pretty good physical assets, but character & work ethic shortcomings, especially in comparison to Kelly. So Kelly was essentially Bama's top interior OL target.

I imagine you'd be singing a similar tune to what I am if UT had landed him today. Kelly is undervalued by the recruiting sites. He simply was not part of their hype plan. I'm quite happy he's rolling with the Tide and so is Coach Saban.
