I don't know that there is reason for excitement on early commitments. When you have a year to wait until you sign, lots and lots of things can happen. I am happy that we are recruiting this level of player, but let's see what takes place a year from now. I would much rather have heard that Harris committed to sign this month!!
Guys I don't claim to be a basketball recruiting expert so I want to pose a question for ya'll; Why are basketball players seemingly more firm in their commitments than football players? (Selby the exception lol)
On average, a college basketball program will sign 2-4 recruits per year. In football, you're looking at an average of 25 recruits per year. In football, when you're bringing in that many kids, you're going to have a few change their mind every year.
Don't laugh too hard. A program could be very successful grabbing the top two kids out of that program every year. The city of Atlanta and surrounding metro area are one of the top 5 youth basketball prospect areas in the country. The Atlanta Celtics own a strangle hold on getting all the top prospects.Thanks. Any chance this kid pulls a Selby or is he firm? I know we've basically gotten commitments from his whole AAU team for 2011 so that should help, right? :birgits_giggle:

Can't remember who the guards were, but 5 or 6 years ago their front line was Dwight Howard, Josh Smith, and Randolph Morris. Just something to think about.

I would actually consider him a true point. He may have the size of a small 2 guard - but that doesn't make him one.
I was basing my evaluation off this:
ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator Joel Francisco had a chance to watch Ware at the 16U USA Basketball mini-camp in October.
Kevin is a very promising combo-guard prospect with high-level athleticism and a frame that should fill out nicely in the future. He has a wiry frame with long arms and hes extremely quick and bouncy.
He excels in transition where he can attack the rim and has excellent body control in traffic.
thought id bump since some people forgot exactly what they said about Ware "from day one"
someone here is a big fat phony
Good point. However, you might want to check out what I said after he played in the Summer of '10 and proved he was never going to be any more than an athlete masquerading as a basketball player. It certainly wasn't that my opinion changed because he reneged on his commit to UT.thought id bump since some people forgot exactly what they said about Ware "from day one"
