i don't want to be a negative nelly here, but most of the stuff that was reported about Rexroad came from the mouth of Rexroad himself. Bryant didn't go in for the camp. Some of it came from VNM and some has been coming from Rexroad himself. We have been contacting him evidently for some time, possibly like we do a lot of kids. Right now he doesn't have an SEC or ACC offer. Maybe we will offer. If we do, I be he jumps on it. However, we have a bunch of guys that we have offered who we must have graded out higher than he is.
“My dad went to school at Tennessee,” Rexroad admitted. “I have liked Tennessee for a long time. We have been a few times over the years; I got to attend the Vanderbilt game last year.”
“They are definitely my favorite,” Rexroad said. “I’m not sure if I will pull the trigger instantly or not. If it feels right and I get that feeling in my gut I will, we will have to wait and see. I know that this is the offer I’m hoping for the most.”
Doesn't mean much.
There are like 500-600 prospects a year that get "nominated" for that game. It doesn't mean they will be selected.
FWIW, if all 400 nominees were signed by top D1 programs @ 25 players per school class you are looking at only 16 FBS schools signing these individuals. I would say that a nomination speaks highly assuming the nominations are not empty forms filled out by bias coaches in which any chump could be nominated.
Hell if all 12 of the SEC schools signed 25 kids that is 300 kids. So depending on the nomination process, it is legit to think that all 400 COULD be SEC-caliber players. I'm not saying that they are, because I'm sure they are not. But all else equal, I wouldn't let the number of nominees diminsh the honor of being nominated.
