the guy who made the threads on IT & VQ says the offer was made yesterday and whether CDD wants him to keep it quiet, he committed to UT.

:dunno: I'll error on the side of caution and go by what Josh says about it since he talked to Shaq

Thanks Kush for the info. This is the first that I have heard of mason. It could be that I am up in the back desert of football (ACC).

Looks like Tech was his first offer.

The reality is, Mason did not have any other offers before the Yellow Jackets threw one his way in the middle of lunch during that camp the weekend before last. The website GoJackets.com lists him with offers from Clemson, Kentucky, South Carolina, Memphis and Middle Tennessee State. ThatÂ’s simply not true, according to Mason.

“No sir,” he said. “I was getting recruited heavily by schools but I had no offers other than Tech.”

Mason, who has a 3.5 GPA and scored well on the SAT, said he had been hearing a lot from Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others.

GT first "real" offer, yes. Jus left Goff 3 minutes ago, he knows of no UT offer to his 'mate. (Hed be one of the 1st to know) -that part is my facts part. The next part is my opinion part- Again, IMHO, the original post's scenario will likely occur should UT extend an offer.

And to think, based on my best estimate, this was all set in motion by that same highlight tape. Sent to Andy McCullom for review of Goff. Here we are now......in June. Interesting to see how this will play out. It is my opinion that they will be Freshman Roomates in Gibbs (?)...

Kush, IF mason does come to ut, will it effect some of the other o-line prospects since it seems mason is sort of a surprise (at least to some of us, i.e. me)?

Oh, I haven't got a clue about other guys. Or @ least no more than you or any other poster. Goff is my son's cousin. That's my connection. My only other legit source is my sisters connection to Roger Woods.

Mason is legit. Probably my 3rd favorite GT commit. Kid was a road grader at GT and explodes off the ball.
