He's very athletic for his size and I've heard he dominated at the UT camp.

Maybe they would like to see more of him in pads versus non-pad work.

That could be it. I'm not busting on the kid at all. I just found GT's statement a little curious considering the fact that he doesn't have an offer yet. Crowder was offered personally by Dooley at the camp.

Its way early. Good season and physical progress will likely get him an offer. Maybe not. If we offer, I'd put my money on him being a Vol. Straight up.

If Mason visits other schools does Johnson pull his Tech offer? Good chance he wants to take some officals?

Topic has been discussed in the "camps" thread. GT09 says/said yes, I said no. Then again, I meant he wouldn't for going to UT's camp the day after his commitment. Aparently PJ's rule says yes, but I guess its a case-by-case thing.

Yes he will defintely pull the offer if he takes a official visit...see Dontae Aycock.

Story from the GT side is that he told the coaches before he committed and had already payed for the camp. Who knows how true that is though.

what # is this guy? cuz i played them last year and will this year and i dont remember going against anyone that i thought was good enough to go to a big D-1 school, but they had a guy #78 that was good, but he played Tackle all but 2 or 3 plays.

Here's the thing. Paul Johnson preaches "loyalty" to his recruits and absolutely hates when a player commits and then decommits for another school. He has probably made it clear to Shaq that if he commits then he's done looking and is going to go to Tech.

With that said, maybe Shaq's love is at Tennessee....but I don't know. I wouldn't want to piss Paul Johnson off.

GT, I get that, and I'm sure the two parties have had deeper dialogue regarding the matter than any of us. But its not uncommon in recruiting for a kid to continue to be recruited by other schools, cmon now. You sort of presented it as if he were out on a date with another woman the night before his wedding. Its June, and the kid has taken (to my knowledge) 0 OV's. That would include to GT. Unless I missed something prior to camp, he simply attended camp. I don't think anyone is trying to "piss off" anyone else. But can you really make a kid out to have a lack of loyalty simply bc other schools persist? Be fair now guy. Look at it this way: All "details" being equal,if your whole signing class was offered a scholly to UA or UF on Feb 2nd (assuming the majority didn't have one), how many do you think would sign GT papers the next morning?

I say 1/3 stay with the Tech commitment. And I almost forgot, I'm almost certain that PJ would never tell a kid what he is/isnt gonna do. LOL You may have not meant to word it that way, but that sounds down right crazed.

GT, what RC doesn't preach loyality! But until the young man signs its fair game. Your dealing with 18 and nineteen yr. old kids. These young men change there minds all the time and jump ship at the last second. As far as being afraid of CJ, what can he do about it if he does change his mind. It happens to UT all the time.

Paul Johnson describes it as marriage...the recruit is the girlfriend and the school is the boyfriend. Why commit or get married to a school if your going to keep cheating on them? Now every now and then we get a Tiger Woods.

Personally I like the rule.

And your right about the OV's...because you can't take any until the Fall...and really that's a unfair question UF wouldn't have many ships open. And that something you just can't guess.

Last year we lose our DL coach/recruiting coordinator, LB coach, A back coach and defensive coordinator.

We had several guys get recruited heavy.

Denzel McCoy - who Kiffin is in love with
Anthony Williams
Ryan Ayers
Shawn Green
Morgan Bailey

But none of those guys wavered.

The point was, to think that GT prospects/ and or "commitments" (the vast majority, obviously there are kids that are GT to the core)are not going to entertain the idea of other schools is silly. PJ can't hold anyone to anything. He can't "tell them they WILL sign with them IF they commit" LOL, he aint Castro homie. He can pull schollies all day long, as if it were productive. His attempt to create a culture of "Loyalty" in the commitment world will only hinder him. Surely you don't think he's started some sort of "new movement" to only commit once?

I never said PJ holds anyone to anything like that. That was the gtvol guy.

But PJ has always had this policy...as does Mack Brown.
