I get where your coming from but as long as he runs hard, I can overlook his height.

Warrick Dunn, Garrett Wolfe, Dion Lewis, and Travis Stephens were all small in stature who thrived in Pro style/I formation offenses. granted all those guys were special Backs but Young has a lot of shake and wiggle and Great Balance.

D. Young is a prospect that we'll definitely have to trust our coach's evalutation on, because he would only see the field on special teams and therefore would have to be VERY special to give him a scholly. Question is how special is he?

One of the instate players who has been somewhat on the regional and national radar for two seasons. Has rushed for over 2,300 yards over the past 2 years, even though last season he was still rounding into form from a knee injury. Still rushed for over 600 yards last season at less than 100%. When healthy, arguably the top overall prospect in the state. As a sophomore, he was named all state. Is hearing from SEC schools, namely Alabama and Ole Miss. Expect offers to come in once he proves he is back.

"I grew up a Miami fan and Tennessee," said Gibson, who was born in West Palm Beach, Fla. before moving to Memphis at an early age. "I'm going to try and do as many camps as I can. I want to try and get my stock up and stars (rating) up and try and make up for the junior year I missed. I'm going to be going pretty hard this summer."

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Gibson believed he had positioned himself for a banner 2009 with a breakthrough season the year before. He carried 242 times for 1,759 yards and 23 touchdowns. In the Class 5A state championship game, a contest Mitchell lost 28-18 to Knoxville-Catholic but where Gibson ws selected the game's MVP with 21 attempts for 192 yards and two touchdowns.

Me too LV! With his size and speed I think he'll be pretty dominant at the next level.

We would be making a big mistake by not offering this kid, IMHO. If nothing else, he could be a HUGE weapon in the return game early in his career while he is learning how to play DB at the collegiate level. I know CDD is supposedly more "thorough" in his evaluation and time it takes to offer a kid (especially compared to the last staff), but an in-state kid this talented, you GOT to offer him.

I'm a huge fan of Gibson. He's just an excellent athlete with good size. I really think he could project as a heck of an Outside Linebacker in college.

Vols lead.

“I have been waiting for UT to stop by and show some interest,” Gibson said Tuesday night. “I thought they had forgot me. I was so happy that they stopped by the school to watch me workout.”

“According to Coach Baggett, they are very close to offering,” Woods said. “He said that Dooley wants to see Gibson in person before the offer, that he perhaps would extend the offer in person.”

“We will definitely get to the campus sometime in the next month or so,” Gibson said. “I grew up a big Tennessee fan, this visit today made my day and my month.”

“Tennessee is definitely back on top as my favorite,” Gibson said. “I grew up Orange and White, after today they are definitely No. 1.”

don't like this: “I have been waiting for UT to stop by and show some interest,” Gibson said Tuesday night. “I thought they had forgot me.

LOVE THIS: “Tennessee is definitely back on top as my favorite,” Gibson said. “I grew up Orange and White, after today they are definitely No. 1.”

Oh, well then there are bigger fish to fry (for us and you all, in fact this may explain your lack of interest). Would of been a good LB though.

i think we should say:

"sign with us and we will let you shw what you've got at rb. You control own fate. If you impress and hold your own, we'll keep you there. BUT if you dont we get to move you to LB."

sound fair?
*note* im guessing he would get moved either way.
