i think we should say:

"sign with us and we will let you shw what you've got at rb. You control own fate. If you impress and hold your own, we'll keep you there. BUT if you dont we get to move you to LB."

sound fair?
*note* im guessing he would get moved either way.

That, to my knowledge, is a pretty common way to go about it.

In his video he runs way to upright and 6'2 is tall for a RB.

Really? I guess someone should have told Jim Brown, Marcus Allen and Eric Dickerson that just to name a few...

Very good athlete with good size. I've always been high on him. I really think he could make a good Linebacker / Strong Safety in college as well.

They are waiting to be sure he is healthy during evaluations and maybe even into his season, but if he comes back strong I say he gets an offer.

Dang that sucks. I still think if we offer we have a shot. LV do you see him sticking to his committment and do you think we'll ever offer?

If he is healthy, he will get bigger offers and it will be tough for Memphis to hold onto him. If he is not healthy, he will stick with Memphis.

Yeah I def. got that feel when I read that article. it sounded like hes using Memphis as a fall back plan.

Yea once he starts receiving some big time offers, I doubt his commitment will stick. It seems he wants away from Mempho. On the other hand, I think Porter is trying to lock down the local talent. Imo, he will have UM more competitive in the future. Imo UA has a good as shot as any. I think the main key is his health issues.

Porter is outworking Dooley in West Tn......Gibson will stay in Memphis.

FedEX is on the scene at U of Memphis now. Major bucks are flowing into this program.

As a person that has been in Memphis the past 4 years, I don't agree with this statement at all. Porter is not outworking Dooley in West TN. Outside of Memphis, UT has a very strong presence (Dyer County, Union County, etc). Dooley is doing quite well considering Ole Miss and Arkansas are in Memphis a lot.

Please explain to me how FedEx is getting recruits to stay at UofM...?

What does having a strong UT presence in Dyer Co. or UC have to do with Dooley outworking Larry Porter? Porter is outworking Dooley in West TN.

Fred Smith's son is on the team. He can donate more money than all UT boosters combined. Memphis will get there sooner than later.

Memphis has had FedEx money for years now, look how far it's gotten them...
And I would much rather see Dooley work hard in GA than Memphis.

Last I checked UT spends more money on recruiting than any other program in the nation. Not that it matters anyways, unless Smith is going to pay off players to come to Memphis it isn't going to have the same appeal as traditional powerhouse programs.
