Lol so let me get this straight....
he's mad at dooley and ut for telling him its a possibility that he may not be taken as a commit.... but he's cool with uga stringing him out to nsd in case they don't land the guys they want???? and uga STILL hasn't offered a scholly lol.
makes a whoooole lot of sense.
he needs to pick duke and get it over with.
Dooley failed to hold a commitment to the kid. Kid was a rock to Tennessee, and we told him to go elsehwere, that we didn't want him as we originally said we did.
I understand that the kid is bitter. That's the natural response. I wish him the best going forward.
The funny part is we have a big number of posters that believe these kids are told that this might happen before they commit to us. They claimed after it happened to Cross that until a kid said something negative to the press they would continue to feel that was the case. Now they just turn the kid into the bad guy. A lot of dodging of reality around here.

Honestly, I can't imagine how hard this was for Henderson. He committed and thought UT was committed to him too. It works in reverse too but when a player de-commits the "victim" is a coach. I really do understand that this was painful for him.
HOWEVER, he was given indications earlier from the reports we've heard. He didn't want to hear it obviously... didn't want to believe it. But it wasn't until DD bluntly recommended that he look around that he "got it". He can blame UT but before the signing restrictions... he would have never been dropped. The rules are tough and you have to do the best you can within them whichever side of the deal you are on. UT has no choice but to find and sign the best players possible. I just hate it had to happen to a kid who sounds so solid.
Not sure I am following you. Are you saying that kids believe that only they can break their "commitment" prior to NSD? They ALL know better than that. I have no direct knowledge but it was suggested that this kid was receiving indirect indications for awhile. Maybe he was and didn't want to hear it. Maybe he wasn't and people are just trying to rationalize something that seems to reflect poorly on UT.
But the bottom line is that virtually all top programs do this and as these new recruiting restrictions really begin to take hold... you will see it MUCH more.
Henderson needs to accept that in the coaches professional judgment, he wasn't the best available player for UT. It's a business about winning. You win by getting the best talent into your program. They obviously didn't think Henderson was the best available. If anything, Henderson should channel that and use it as fuel to prove people wrong and become a better player.
I understand that integrity, character, etc. goes into a player's evaluation, and I'm sure CDD and the staff did their homework. So there really isn't a whole lot to see here. Dude needs to move on. It's only going to hurt him worse by lingering on being "let go" by UT.
Cross is an example of a kid who is handling it correctly. I know Henderson feels jilted but blasting UT in articles and on Twitter isn't helping things.
Plus, if he's really 185, I'm glad we moved on.
I hate that Coach Cut said that but that guy has earned some grace in my eyes. He was a great OC at UT for years and years. I think we should cut him some slack (at least this time)
