I'm not really trolling. I just don't think anything that guy said in his post earlier was "homeristic," aside from "one of the best defenses in the SEC," which I stated earlier.

Which is proof you aren't objective. The guy cherry picked his "proof" of... welll.... whatever it was he was trying to prove. That isn't all that clear either. I guess he was trying to prove that MSU is a better program than UT right now because they beat UK and Ole Miss plus probably the weakest OOC schedule in the SEC.

I know everyone is mad because they landed Autry and are likely to yank Jacobs, but it's no excuse to be irrational.

This is recruiting. Kids choose what they think is best for them. I hate that the kid seemed to have been misleading but it isn't like he's the first recruit that UT has wanted, fans here had high hopes for, and who chose someone else. It is the nature of the best.

The problem I have with you is that you equate "irrational" with someone who does not share your habit of assuming the negative.... or the answer that shines the more dim light on UT.

We've been 3rd and 5th in the SEC in scoring D the last 2 seasons- that averages out to top 4- which means one of the best defenses

Nothing is homeristic if its the truth- if we had bid on Cam- we would have gotten him. We were told what the amount was to get him. Auburn was investigated- we got no such letter from the NCAA

Looking at your team and ours- its easy to see who will be better- hell, you guys will find out this Fall on your visit

MSU is like the Vandy of the West, you'll be lucky to have a mediocre season there. You got Autry, so what? If he's dumb enough to play for a team who's destined for 6-6 every year then let him go. We're a young, but talented team. You have experience and some talent, yet MSU will still never be relevant. No matter the circumstances. Now go back to your garbage town of Starkville and gtfo. This is perhaps the saddest statement I've seen. You're content that your team has sent some players to the NFL. What good does that do your program? As a fan, I would think you would expect wins. I think you would expect chamionships at some point. Hell, you should at least expect relevancy. UT fans fully expect to return to our former level of greatness. We may disagree on which road is the right one, but at least we expect to get there.

Congrats on Autry. I really wanted him at UT. Won't lie about that, but if he was telling both staffs the same thing, I really don't respect that. And maybe you pull Jacobs as well. I think his chances of starting early are far more likely here than there given the shape of our d-line, but maybe that doesn't really matter to him. We'll see. I think our worst stretch in modern memory is still better than the perpetual state of hopelessness that is being a MSU fan.

As I said in another thread.... Poole is now a "former" Vol. I appreciate his effort, heart, and contribution. However he is no longer relevant... nor was he ever elite.

This is different. In the Poole debates, I could have argued the other side with relevant facts. There was another side. There isn't another side here. This MSU fan is somehow taking satisfaction that his team is roughly equal with UT when UT is at its lowest point in over 30 years.... and somehow Johnny thinks he has a good point.

2. His juco is only 20 miles from Starkville- so he knows full well where he is going and has been hanging out there for awhile.

3. The McPhee story is true- Thanksgiving weekend is when he changed his mind. They bonded, and Autry saw he could take the same path.

4. Mullen isnt going anywhere

5. We have won more games than you guys the last 2 years, and will continue to do so as long as Dooley is your coach.

6. Say goodbye to Jacobs too- he is dating a girl on campus- and with All-SEC DT Fletcher Cox most likely leaving for the draft this April- he sees a starting spot for him on one of the SEC's best defenses next year.

7. Correction- Cam Newton was not offered anything- he asked for 180K...we turned it into the NCAA. We arent paying anybody squat- so stop with the butthurt allegations.

Most of that has nothing to do with Tennessee. What parts of the bolded do you disagree with?

Yes, Tenn has a much better history than State
Yes, we have been irrelevant as a program.

But you have to crawl before you can walk- and we got rid of the good ol boy network 3 years ago that was weighing our athletic dept down. New President, AD, football coach, baseball coach....and we are now beginning to reap the rewards of eliminating what has been holding us back.

More donations than ever have come in, building new athletic buildings, coaching pay in the top 20 in the nation, sold out stadiums....this is not your father's Miss State anymore.

We havent arrived yet- but we are on the way- and I'm glad you guys are pissed off we are coming.




So many of you seem confused as to why he committed to us- just thought I would help you understand- and also prepare you for Jacobs, so there wont be such a meltdown next week when he signs with us.
