Do you remember who called called who?

I remember it seemed like we might get DJ Humphries and the Monday of the week he announced OCI came on and said that something had changed and the staff was not confident anymore. So lends credence to what he says.

Also though seems like one of them said after Gray committed that the deal was we were gonna take either gray or bivins whichever committed first and not the other. But now it looks like we may be taking both

But things are fluid in recruiting and change so I want - no i need - to believe they are legit in something that is as important to a fan base as recruiting. Would be brutal to play with our emotions in such a way.

Back in July when we had like two full weeks of committments, Skeeter made some pretty accurate predictions. The most infamous of which was Peterman, because he pissed some people off with that info leaking early. He also called B. Moore last year, and told everybody to not get their hopes up about Wright. He missed on dawson, but so did everybody. So, Skeeter seems legit imo.

OCI seems legit because he was the one who basically threw cold water in Skeeter's hopeful info about DJ Humphries. That was a case where Skeeter was off, but OCI was steadfast in his opinion of the situation. He has also made some other calls that I'm forgetting.

In summary, I believe both are credible sources of info. That being said, nobody is going to be right 100% of the time.

What's the basis of your opinion? Have you heard something that would lead you to this or is this just a gut feeling?

It's JMO, Patterson wants to be "The Man" & he would be that at UGA. Plus they are coming off a SEC Championship appearance & will likely be favored to win the East again next year.

Nothing has changed. If my information is wrong, I'm sure there I'll get bashed and there will be much jubilation for some posters because I was wrong. At this point, I'd be shocked if we don't land Patterson. That's my update for the week. When the daily question is asked how I feel about Patterson, feel free to quote this response.

You are correct -- if Patterson announces for UGA or anyone else but Tennessee, there will be a number folks who will freak out and claim you are nothing more than a troll. No matter how solid your information is and no matter what your overall "correct" percentage is, there are folks who hope you are wrong -- somehow it makes them feel their own street cred improves when your information proves incorrect.

The bottom line is that even those with the best "inside" information will occasionally be wrong. That does not mean their information is not good, it is just a reflection of the fact that recruiting is a enterprise dealing with young kids who are subject to changing their minds and also the fact that some of them will lie to our staff.

I appreciate very much OCI and Skeeter's contributions to this board and understand that they will occasionally be wrong. But the bulk of what they bring here is far superior to the average poster and we should all be appreciative for their efforts to keep us informed.

I think moving Hinshaw to WR was the best thing we could've done to get Patterson. I don't think the retirement of Baggett swayed his decision one bit bc he probably knew Hinshaw was going to become WRs coach. Not much else we can do or say about Patty..just wait and see....wait...and see.... :zeitung_lesen:

Malcolm Mitchell and Tavarres King aren't slouches and Murray struggles throwing the deep ball.

Actually Patterson would be 3rd on the totem pole at WR for UGA. They had a very good freshmen WR whom Murray has nice timing with and confidence in. Then you have grandma's boy, who is beginning to make a few plays. They all have knowledge of the offense and will have a big advantage over Patterson in the summer.

Both OCI and Skeeter go with the best and latest info they have and some gut feelings. Since recruiting is an inexact science, nobody is 100% accurate. An 18 year old can change his mind in an instant. It could be because a girl friend just dumped him or something like that. Who knows?

Jury is still out on OCI, IMO. I've followed Skeet for a few years going back to his days posting on ESPN, he is very seldom wrong about recruiting.

except the fact that he missed about 75% of the wide open deep balls during that game. He finally hit a couple in the 2nd half.

Very fair criticism of Murray. He needs alot of work throwing the deep balls. Many times he overthrows our receivers and other times our receivers have to adjust to the throws. He is very inconsistent and not very accurate.

Murray is very good, would take him in a heart beat. That being said, him and Stafford remind me of each other. Very good, but inconsistent.

JMO, but i prob trust OCI a little more.. I'm starting to wonder about skeet.. No offense or anything, but all of his statements lately are so broad, and so often, it seems like he's reaching or trying too hard.. Again, JMO and no disrespect

A short QB with a weak inaccurate arm rarely sees any rounds of the NFL draft.

See, you just turned my statement into a strawman. You restructured my statement and then destroyed it.

Though its true what you said I wasn't even saying he'd get drafted. Just the comparison to Stafford.

On the FB board its being said that utsports has moved Hinshaw back to saying QB coach from WR. Anybody over here got a reason for that? I guess it could be a technology issue when they put JayG bio up but it makes one wonder.
