As will I. Let's get Patterson, Croom, and Bowles and call it a day at WR.

I think UT ends up taking 4 WRs in the class.

Patterson, Croom, Bowles, and either Bell/Hegedus/Howard for the 4th spot.

I would prefer Javon Bell for the 4th WR spot, but he is a JUCO and I can see that there is a possiblity UT's staff wouldn't want to take 2 JUCO WRs in one cycle. UT staff might want a 4 year player for that 4th WR spot.

If that is the case then I think they take Hegedus to go along with Patterson, Croom, and Bowles.

I could deal with that. We are gonna be set for quite some time at WR thanks to Baggett and company.

I think it also depends if we have any more attrition on this team. A lot can happen between now and signing day. At this moment though I think we need to use our schollys on D-line and Linebakcker and not 4 WR's.

Don't forget about Dwayne Stanford, he has us in his top 5 and he seems to like us alot. I wouldn't mind having him as our 4th but at this point I don't really care who we take as our 4th.

Don't forget about Redding. We're in his top 3.

1st week in Aug could be huge with D.J. Humphries, Patterson, and Croom committing. Talk about making a recruiting splash...

It's gonna be crazy.

I mean wow. Just thinking about it gives a rush. two 5 stars and a 4 star...Or in other words, top JUCO, and top OT in the nation in one week. Could be the news of the summer. Not just for UT, but for all of NCAA recruiting...I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Don't expect Patterson to commit that soon.

I just said that he hinted that he might choose before his season starts.

And keep in mind, these are just "verbal" commitments as well. They are what they are. Verbal. Which equals non-binding.

It's still in the realm of possibility though.. Croom is committing around then I think, IIRC. And he's no slouch either.

Yeah I know.

I just wanted to make sure you understood that it shouldn't be expected that he commits then. In fact right now I think he'll end up taking his OVs and then deciding like he originally planned.

Very true, but for the EEs, they don't have a lot of time to change their minds. I can't remember who all is EE though so none of the ones mentioned above could be.

Dooley wont take a commit if its not solid

That is true. Which is something that I like about Coach Dooley quite a bit. The "Hot Sauce" statement he made can leave some of us fans a little frustrated at times, but once a player gives his verbal pledge to Dooley, it seems to be pretty well set in stone.

what did he say about hot sauce

what did he say about hot sauce
Per Derek Dooley:

“Everybody was panicking back in June because we had one commitment,” Dooley said in his first press conference since the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30. “But the way we recruit is very process-driven. We don’t throw hot sauce on them on the final weekend and try to scoop them in. I don’t think that stands the test of time, and I don’t think guys that come here with that kind of hot sauce on them, (if) that appeals to them, are the kind of guys that stick. “Developing a deep relationship over time, selling what Tennessee has to sell, I think when you do that on enough players, eventually you’ll get a quality class.”

Thanks for your :twocents:

You're saying you don't "know" anything. Right? You're assuming.
