The running game doesn't need to be amazing. Just enough to keep defenses honest. There is no reason we shouldn't be decent at worst in the running game. Hopefully the new hires will help.

If the RB's and O-Line can avoid serious injury we should have a good ground game. Anxious to see Lane in the Spring. Confidence (more than than physical limitations) is holding him back. IMO.

Getting back mentally from an injury like that can be a process for some kids. I think we'll see the real Marlin this year.

Defenses were having a hard enough time with both Hunter and Rogers out there. Throw in the #1 JUCO in this class (and arguably the #1 WR overall) into the mix and you got a lot of secondaries with their heads spinning. :loco:

still would have 3 years to play 2 unless he redshirted at juco. Always the possibility he could redshirt at UT too.....:) (and yes, that is a joke)

yeah I left out the joke part at first but added it in since I didn't want to get called an idiot by people who didn't get it. I think CP is already our #1-2 receiver once he gets on campus. Getting these guys enough balls to keep them happy will be a nice problem to have

Man. To just think about what we're putting on the field. I was excited when freshmen came in that I knew was going to make an impact in the starting lineup last year, but this year, I can be excited about some JuCo players that I think will help us a lot.

QB- Bray, who will be starting, after already starting 12 games as a Fresh/Soph.
RB - Hard to say. One of Rajion Neal, Marlin Lane, Davante Bourque. I don't see Tom Smith, Hill, Toney, Watson starting.

WR - Justin Hunter (33 catches, 729 yards, 9 TD's in 16 games). Only played in 3 last year.
WR - Da'Rick Rogers (78 catches, 1207 yards, 15.5 yd/catch, 11 touchdowns in 25 games)
WR - Vincent Dallas - 3* out of high school, 37 receiving yards last year, 0 touchdowns
WR - Cordarelle Patterson - a touchdown every four catches. Nuff said.
WR - Drae Bowles - 4*
WR - Jason Croom - 4*
WR - Alton Howard - 4*
WR - Naz Oliver - Still on the team, hurt last year. Could make a difference.

OL - Ju'Wuan James (25 starts)
OL - Alex Bullard (Started all 12 games last year)
OL - Marcus Jackson (5 starts, played in all 12 games)
OL - James Stone (Started 17 games of 21 games played in)
OL - Zach Fulton (Started 17 games of 24 games played in)
OL - JerQuari Schofield - (Started 5 games of 10 games played in)
OL - Of course there's also Richardson, Posey, Kerbyson, Crowder, Pair, Gooch, Anderson.

TE - Mychal Rivera - (40 receptions, 456 yards, 11.4 yards/reception, 1 touchdown) Started all 25 games.

This offense is going to be much more seasoned and matured. There is NO excuse for not knowing what to do, or lack of leadership or bouncing back to adversity.

Some on this offense have been through the LSU loss, the North Carolina loss, and almost everyone in that offense has been through losing to Kentucky. There's no reason for any excuses this year. We will have one of the most cohesive offenses in the country, and the defense will have some tweaks in it, and there will be a little more reason for patience with a new DC. But he won't see it that way. I believe we're in for an explosive offense this year.

CP is right....can't double team all three of them. I'm loving this.

#1-2 WR huh..........

With a healthy Hunter, he is #3.

Let's not forget Da'Rick is All-SEC and Hunter, if healthy, is the best WR in the country.

I don't think anyone can put CP anywhere in the rankings on our team until we see how he compares to the others. Da'rick put up 1,000 yards in the SEC, against the likes of Bama, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

CP did it in JUCO. BIG difference. It doesn't mean he wont' be the best on our team. I'm just saying, you can't compare an apple to a fruit in a brown bag. We have no idea what he is yet. I hate John Adams, and I hated his article, but he said, "Kenny O'Neal was a 5 star too." So, we'll just see what he becomes. I'm excited to watch.
