Excellent post.

This is the biggest problem with Message Boards. They pick fights and everybody has to choose the "extreme" that they will side with. Here are some examples:

- Da'Rick is an amazing player and asset to the team OR he's a cancer to the team and should be kicked off.
- Dooley is doing great and deserves a few more years OR he's got to go now.
- Que Watson has the potential to be an All-SEC RB OR he's a total waste of a scholly.

In each of these cases, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. If you step back and look at the situation, you'll come to that conclusion. But MB's make you side with one of the extremes. If you start to defend one side, everyone jumps on you like you're an extremist.

This is why I often argue the opposite side of my true beliefs when discussing things like politics and religion with people outside of MB's. Just makes it a bit fun and shows how ridiculous it is to be extremist about anything.

What's going on with Da'Rick. I read on another site that Rogers got into it with a couple of players after the UK game due to a "lack of effort." Nothing physical, just a shouting match with other players. Dooley had to step in and break it up.

I'm not trying to stir the pot. Just asking if somebody knows if there is any truth to this.

Sounds plausible. It's said the minset of the team wasn't great that week. The seniors obviously don't want to end their career against Kentucky, and vocally complained about some younger ones not getting it and wanting to pad their stats. Names were not given, but some lines are pretty easy to read between

That's tough to deal with as a player. Finger pointing and the blame game becomes the popular thing to do amongst some players after going through a losing season.

Talent is more important than chemistry. Ever played a team sport? Got news for you: not everyone gets along, people always think they need more touches, more catches, more innings, more shots. There are always cliques-usually by class and/or ability.

Congratulations on attempting to use the Kentucky game as anything other than an example that this team quit on its coach.

Actually I have played an organized sport chief. Lets see, I believe the Yankees had the most talented team in baseball.. where did they end up? The Heat have three of the best players in the NBA, how did that go again? The Eagles have a stacked roster.. where are they gonna be come playoff time?

Who is the most successful coach this decade.. let me help you out. Bill Belichick, what does he preach.. NO INDIVIDUALS.. your starting to see a theme here, huh?

Why did the team quit in Kentucky?? Because of dissension. Where does dissension come from... from selfish team mates like DR. You are making my points for me.

A sophopmore lead the SEC in receiving, with your QB out for 5 weeks, and the other playmaker out for the year. Let's all bash him and blame him for what's wrong with the offense...

I never said I was blaming him for the problems with our offense. I am blaming him for the problem with our moral and chemistry. He is a stud on the field but he is not a leader or a team guy. And I can not believe you people do not see anything wrong with that.

can we stay on topic for once.... only post in here regarding the recruitment of cp and nothing else go to the football forum to discuss darick or dooley

So you're saying it's the coach's responsibility to keep everyone in check, but it's Da'Rick's fault there's "dissension"

Hmmm.. That's an interesting theory ya got there. Some of us like to call it hypocrisy, chief.

I want Patterson in Orange!

All the Rogers talk is crazy. He's inconsistent with his effort. Yes he's good but he doesn't play to the level he's capable of all the time. He didn't play anywhere near the level he played at against Vandy. It is what it is. Now if he was out to pad his stats he would catch everything that comes his way. Austin Johnson and Malik Jackson are two I could at least hear having a complaint. But Poole is someone that cost us more than one win and he shouldn't be complaining. I'm so glad he's gone with his average ass. He ran hard only sometimes too so he can shut the hell up.

This is your rebuttal.

Perhaps I overestimated you

I'm sorry, did you want a response to your irrelevant Heat, Yankees, and Eagles comparisons? I figured we were off topic enough, we could at least keep it Vol-related.
Heat- Bosh has absolutely no place in "one of the best in the NBA" or whatever you said. As for Leron and Wade, they don't really fit together. Has nothing to do with them not getting along, they're best friends. They're styles of play clash. Terrible example.
Yankees? A-Rod and Tex are notorious chokers. Jeter is 85. No one in that rotation is postseason relevant besides CC. I was unaware of the turmoil in the Yankees clubhouse? Do enlighten me.
Eagles? Coach who loves to throw + 2 QBs who'd rather run + an OL that couldn't pass block air = ?? idk you tell me mr. answers

I really hope they don't leave without a commitment from CP. IMO, he is one of the major pieces that we need to turn the football program around. If he does end up a Vol it will pay off extremely well for CDD. But you never know how 18-19 year old kids will transition into Div. 1 football. He definitely has the talent to be an amazing! It's hard not to look at his amazing potential. Kid is a beast!

He is an important piece but getting in the defensive talent we are going after is bigger. Not having to use freshman in more than one position will be refreshing next year

Let's lock him up! I will be stoked about this class, with Jacobs, Autry, and Sentimore already being Vols (via OCI's thread). If we get CP and lose out on some of the other recruits (i.e. Pig, McCullers, Meredith) I will still be completely satisfied with this class. Of course it would be amazing to lock up the others. I think it would be just absolutely stellar that CDD can pull these guys with the season that we just had.
