"UConn is my leader right now," he said, echoing recent thoughts. "Their facilities are top notch. They're some of the best I've seen and I've been around all of them.

"I loved it at Tennessee and they blew me away with everything about the program. This is a big offer for me, and it seems like they're really trying to recruit Ohio kids right now."

"It was so different than everything I've seen before and they're all about football," he added. "They are putting in a multi-million dollar facility that will be amazing when completed. I really hit it off with the coaching staff, and I loved everything about Tennessee."

Hill has always planned on taking a few official visits before deciding, but those plans might be changing.

"I'm on my way to Vanderbilt right now and I'm looking forward to seeing their program," he explained. "I'm going to take a trip to Notre Dame, because they're talking about offering me once they see me. I might go to Iowa in the next week, rather than wait on an unofficial visit."

"I have a lot to think about, but these schools seem to be separating themselves," he continued. "Both Tennessee and Connecticut are number one, but I still want to give other schools a fair chance, which is why I'm still taking visits.

Don't like seeing him put Uconn and us as equal leaving camp. The kids build and running style makes me think he could be a replacement for Cross as he seems to be about to bounce. He does seem to have some interest and he has an offer.

I can see why you think that, but UCONN has been on this guy from the beginning. They have been the all alone favorite all along. This guy just spent one afternoon at UT talking to the staff and now has us as his favorite and raves about the facilities. I'm happy with where we stand here.

Could be that Uconn has been recruiting him longer, he has an offer from them, and they are closer.

While Uconn being on him longer makes sense...both schools have offered and distance sure isn't the reason. Uconn is twice as far from him as Knoxville is. Maybe we can get him to visit again for an OV this fall.

Sorry I didn't read where we offered. But he could see tough competition here plus the distance and think Uconn could be better for him. Who knows.

I think you may be confused with the distance. He is about 7 hrs from Knoxville and about 12+ from Uconn.

Not really a stand out offer list, but could be underrated.

His offer list isnt great but he has some nice offers from schools that have always had good, big backs like Michigan,Iowa and Pitt. Really like this kid and hope he committs. Im not sold on Cross being here in Feb. I would like to hold on to him but he is one of those that i can see headed to VA. I actually like Hill better and would love a committment from him. He would be the big bruiser we need.Although I do think Tom Smith will be one also.

Yeah I just assumed he was closer to Uconn, didn't do well in geography.

Most people from "the south" just lump everyone into "the north" and vice versa. Ohio, Connecticut, Iowa, California, it's all the same to a lot of southerners. Just as a lot of folks from NY/New England area consider anything south or south west of New Jersey "the south". I've lived in many different states and it's funny how this is really how most, who've never lived anywhere other than where they were born, think.
