Tennessee landed one of the top tailbacks in Ohio Tuesday evening, with Alliance Marlington's Alden Hill making his decision to be a Volunteer.
"I just committed to Tennessee," Hill exclaimed. "I just got off the phone with Coach (Derek) Dooley and gave him the news. He was ecstatic to hear about my decision, and I couldn't be happier to be honest. I always knew throughout the process that one school would stand out as the best, and Tennessee sure did that."
Hill, 6-foot-2, 220-pounds, earned his Volunteer offer Monday after a camp performance in front of the Tennessee staff, and he wasted no time accepting. Hill also was offered by Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Boston College, and others.
"Tennessee just felt like home, and playing in the SEC was too good to pass up," he stated. "I fell in love with everything about the program instantly, and I know these coaches are the people I want coaching me throughout my college career. They are putting millions into the facilities, the stadium is awesome, and this is clearly the best place for me."
"I'm both relieved and happy to have found my school, and recruiting is over for me," he added. "I won't be taking any more visits, and I'm thrilled to be headed to the Vols. I'm proud that I was able to earn my offer in front of the coaches, and not have it handed to me off my film."
Hill, an honor student at Marlington, rushed for over 2,200 yards last season as a junior, scoring 33 touchdowns. He helped lead his team into the Ohio playoffs for the second consecutive year.
