'12 TN QB Chad Voytik

Has anyone heard of how is he doing in the Elite 11?

Scout lists him as the 4th best after Winston, Kiel, and Houston. They say he has the quickest release of all the QBs and good footwork. His recruiting might blow up after this showing at camp. I wonder if we might take a harder look at him?

Elite 11 finals Day 1 recap - ESPN

Chad Voytik (Cleveland, Tenn./Cleveland)
6-0, 195 pounds
Although taller than Patti, but still average in terms of height for the position, Voytik has the goods. He is very similar to former Clemson QB Kyle Parker in many ways in terms of swagger and skill set. Voytik continues to add bulk and strength to his frame and looks the best we have seen of him physically. He has a great stroke and one of the top three or four deliveries in this group.

No.

He is reportedly under 6 foot. His size has hurt him with a lot of programs out there. That's why Pitt is his leader instead of UT, FL, Bama, etc.

Rivals has him listed at 6'1", which means he's probably only abt 5'10". Hopefully with all the national attention he's starting to get, he may end up getting a big time offer. He has been shooting up the ranking for the last few weeks. Still doesn't hold any major offers from a real SEC school (sorry vandy and MSU, you don't count).
He's at least worth looking at IMO. Sorry if I'm just being a homer, but he's from near my home town. I know he's a big orange fan and I'm kinda pulling for him.

Peterman is a legit 6'2" according to the info that's out there. Voytik's height is inflated. I've heard 5'10" is the truth. That's four inches. The staff likes Peterman and that's good enough for me.

i live in Cleveland and have watched him play. He's not 6'1. I would agree that 5'10 or 5'11 is accurate

Jim Chaney coached Drew Brees (6'0" on a good day) in college and that worked out pretty well. I think he broke every Big Ten passing record there was to break. It's not always about height and weight. I'm a little surprised that height is that big an issue with this staff if that is indeed the case here.

True but Purdue and Big 10 Football is a lil different from the SEC

He was good enough to play in the NFL. I'm not saying we should go after Voytik but it's ignorant to make a blanket statement that you have to be a certain height to play in the sec.

It's also silly to make a blanket statement that short guys can succeed as QB's. Name another recent highly successful short QB. In the NFL, Brees is the exception, not the rule.

I doubt height is the only reason why he doesn't have offers. Jake Heaps was short and he had offers from teams all around the country.

I know I agree. There are certainly few and I know I would prefer a tall qb. I'm just saying it's possible for short qbs to be successful
