12 TN RB I'tavius Mathers

Not sure what school you're talking about?

Mathers has been offered by Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Cincinatti, Duke, Memphis, Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia, Arkansas State, and Middle Tennessee.

UT obviously...how long ago was he offered?

Hopefully he will be a Vol! Guy is the real deal who finds a way to score. Will be a player to look out for in this recruiting class.

We already have Cross, and will snap take Kimbrow, so Mathers isn't coming here, in my opinion. There are a ton of out of state RBs who are also high on us.

Mathers is more of an every down kind of back though, and Kimbrow just isn't. Kimbrow maybe fast, but I don't think he projects as a RB in the SEC. He maybe a situational type back, as is Young, but Dooley wants the punishers with speed carrying the load. Kimbrow is a tweener, just like Young is. He maybe a few inches taller, and a few pounds heavier, but they are closer to the same player than most people think.

I agree with Cross already committed, I see us taking three "RB" in this class with Kimbrow as a returner primarily and sitution running back and possible WR in some packages IMO. Now IMO I would like to see Mathers as the other RB taken in this class as I have see both Live and tapes of his playing and looks like the real deal, he is talked about pretty heavily around the Middle TN area.

Marshall should be #1 on the list. Kimbrow will not count as a pure RB in this class. He will be signed as an athlete/RB.

I see you have RB in quotes and agree that if Kimbrow is a VOL it will be as an athlete and more of a Brandon James for the VOLS.

Kimbrow will be a RB for the Vols.

Time will tell. Lets see if he is the every-down RB that people believe he will be. I don't believe that is the case.

take kimbrow and cross and call it a day at RB.... too many other needs to take a third RB imo.

Really? I want Keith Marshall. We should have higher goals but if we take just two "RBs" then Kimbrow is odd man out. He will be signed as an Athlete/3rd RB.IMO

I would bet we don't take 3 RBs, but I've been wrong before.

We may if it gets Kimbrow in just because the kid will be great on STs.

KB is a (Off) pkg and ST player, not an every dn SEC RB, no way he stands the grind and punishment week in-week out. KB = Ath IMO
Tennessee takes 2 RB's---IC & hopefully one of these...DH, KM, IM, RS, or T.J.Y, listed alphabetically not by rating. All big (200-220) backs w/ breakaway speed (4.4 -4.5).

Would like to add J Gray (TX, TX A&M, & TT) and B Sanders (UA or OSU) to the list, unfortunately, Tennessee is out of it. IMO.
