Sounds like nothing but good news for UT here. How good is Jalen Tabor and what position does he play?

Here are the quotes from the new VQ article SigNu mentioned:

"All I really know about Tennessee is that they're in the SEC and they need linebackers because basically no linebackers came in for their 2012 class on signing day and their linebackers are getting fairly old, so it seems like a good school," he said.
"In a 3-4, I feel like I bring that total package just coming off the line and making plays. In a 4-3, I'm not a edge, but there's nothing wrong with a 4-3, it's alight," Ngakoue said. "I just love the 3-4."
"I really want to go see Tennessee. My teammate, Jalen Tabor, told me he's been down there and seen it and love it, so I want to see it for myself," Ngakoue said. "He said that it's a real good school. He said that I should go down there and check it out and that he loved the atmosphere when he was down there and the people and everything is good and I just need to go check it out."

Could be a Tennessee/FSU battle:

Friendship Collegiate Academy was already good to Florida State during the 2012 recruiting cycle with the signing of five-star defensive tackle Eddie Goldman.
And in 2013, it could be more of the same.
Four-star offensive tackle Derwin Gray received his offer from defensive line coach Odell Haggins on Sunday.

"You know, I was really excited about this offer," he said.(Ronald) Darby and I are really close and he is going to tell me how it is at FSU. It's great to think we could be playing together in college.
"This is a dream offer. I've been so into Florida State for a long time and its great that they finally saw my film and offered."
Gray plans on taking a trip to the Sunshine State in March to check out two prominent schools and see what they have to offer.

"Ill be down there sometime next month to see Miami and Florida State," Gray said. "I can't wait to see what things are like in Tallahassee and see Coach Haggins again. He is a real cool dude."

Gray might not be coming alone. A certain three-star linebacker from the same area also has some interest in the Seminoles.
"Yannick Ngakoue and I were talking about Florida State the other day," explained Gray. "He was saying how much he liked FSU and we just talked about playing together at the next level. We are gonna try and get to FSU together next month and see what happens."

Was named the top LB prospect at the MDHigh Five-Star Showcase last weekend. He competed with over 500 prospects and earned the top LB spot. Here is the breakdown:
1. Yannick Ngakoue, Friendship Collegiate (D.C.): At 6-feet-2, 235 pounds, Ngakoue looks more like a man than a kid who's barely old enough to hold a license. Ngakoue, who has multiple offers, boasts a combination of size, speed and agility that was unmatched by any other linebacker at the camp. Not only does he close well and have the ability to overpower running backs at the line, but he's quick enough to cover them out in space. Ngakoue is extremely fluid for a prospect his size; he can open up his hips, turn and run and break down in space. He takes good drops and is able to pick up receivers over the middle as well. Of course, at 6-2, 235, Ngakoue is extremely physical; he destroyed routes with a nasty punch.

We could probably go ahead and say this is one of our most important recruits in the 2013 class.

LB Yannick Ngakoue: The D.C. 'backer is starting to blow up with recent offers from Florida State and Michigan to go along with earlier offers from Maryland, Rutgers, Connecticut, Tennessee and West Virginia. Look for the 6-foot-2, 226-pounder to be a 30-plus offer prospect by the time the summer ends. Florida State, West Virginia and Tennessee are early leaders but Michigan will now be in the mix.

I think this definitely could be a UT/FSU recruiting battle. This is a recruiting battle UT hasn't one in awhile.

I like UT's chances with this one though. Distance and Yannick's love for the 3-4 defense could benefit the Vols.

I agree with others that say it's time for Sal to earn his $$$ and win this battle b/c we are battling one of the big boys for Yannick..An advantage to us is that this particular area of the country is Sal's strength..:cool2:Feel pretty good about landing this guy.

I apologize if it I missed it, but when will this guy be visiting UT in the future??

I think he's attending our junior day this weekend. It'll be interesting to see how the recruitment of the players in that area goes. Between Sal, Haggins and Lox, you've got three of the better recruiters in the country covering that area.

Yannick Ngakoue, LB, Friendship Collegiate (2013): I have about 11 offers right now: Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, UNC, NC State, West Virginia, UConn, Rutgers, Tennessee and Maryland. … I really like WVU and Tennessee early on. They both run a 3-4 scheme, and I fit well in that kind of defense. I really like what Tennessee's linebackers do; and with WVU they show me a lot of love and have a connection with my coach at Friendship. … I kind of like Maryland, too. But the thing with them is they already have like five linebackers coming in, so I'm not sure how I'll fit there. … I've been to UConn for a game, and I've been to Rutgers for a game. Those are the only two schools I've seen so far. … I'm going back to UConn for a visit, and then after that I'm heading to WVU. I'll probably try to take a trip down to Tennessee to see how that is, too.

He said he likes West Virginia also because of the 3-4, but I had thought I read somewhere their new DC was moving away from the 3-3-5 stack they have been running and switching to a 4-3 base with the move to the Big 12. Not that I'm even a little bit worried about WVU but that sure can't hurt.
