He said he likes West Virginia also because of the 3-4, but I had thought I read somewhere their new DC was moving away from the 3-3-5 stack they have been running and switching to a 4-3 base with the move to the Big 12. Not that I'm even a little bit worried about WVU but that sure can't hurt.
- Rivals"I want to go to spring games at West Virginia, Florida State, Tennessee, NC State and North Carolina," said the 6-foot-2, 226-pound Ngakoue. "There could be a few more, but I'm still planning these."
"I've been talking to West Virginia, UConn, Michigan, Tennessee and Florida State a lot," he said. "I don't have any schools that standout to me yet. All of these schools are in the same boat right now."
"I look at the depth chart, the linebackers and how old they are," Ngakoue explained. "Also, who the school has been recruiting at my position will play into my decision. I don't want to go to a school just because of the name. I want to go to a school where I can get some playing time as a freshman and in the next three years have a chance to start. I'd like to be close to my mom, but I'm going to choose the school I'm most comfortable at."
ATP Yannick, Dorian O'Daniel, and Ben Boulware are three of the most impressive LBs I have watched that we have a legitimate chance at pulling. I like the Vereen commit, as well as Rankin's potential, but these three seem to be the creme de la creme IMO.
I love the Vereen commit too.
I agree. I really like his size and frame. If Rankin is "underated" then what about Vereen? His high end offers (Tennessee, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Clemson) when he committed (which was earlier than Rankin so he probably would have pulled more by now) were every bit as good.
- Rivals"I loved my time at West Virginia. Everybody was cool, the players were showing me love, it was real cool," he said. "It definitely met my expectations; the facilities, the weight room and everything were bunched together, so it's not a hassle."
Overall, the visit ranked 9.5 out of 10 for the rising junior and finally getting on campus to see everything boosted the Mountaineers overall chances in the race for his signature.
"It's definitely a place where I could see myself playing. There's no distractions and if I went there all I would do is play football and school work," he said. "It boosted my interest level a lot."
Ngakoue plans on returning to Morgantown for another visit sometime during the summer.
